Train? What train?

This hotel fit our needs very well. Located immediately off the highway... The clerk made us aware of the train tracks, but because we reserved in advance we had a front room. No problem.

Slept like a baby

I was there for a job interview and took my daughter with me on the trip to check out the area. The staff was very helpful in finding things in the area. The hotel was clean, the pool felt wonderful, maybe just a tad too much chlorine. The breakfast was good with a variety of foods.

Ate next door to the hotel, not a fan of the Texas Steakhouse and Saloon. Everything else was great about the trip.

Nice Leisure Hotel

My boyfriend and I stayed here on a trip to the mountains. Crabtree falls was our actual destination and being only about 40 minutes away it was not so bad. There are several gas stations nearby as well as plenty of places to eat. We had Cracker Barrel one night and another night we were able to order out dominos pizza from nearby and they delivered it right to our room!If you enjoy shopping there is a little town about 10 minutes away but the roads can be difficult to navigate once you get in there! Overall it's very nice. Located right near the interstate and as I said nearby many places to eat and even a walmart that is about 6 minutes away- haha! The room was nice and big. A few complaints would be a slight musty smell when first entering the room.... but once you got in the room for a few minutes you did not notice. Another is the bed was not too comfortable. Sleep was full of tossing around and my boyfriend woke with a sore back. One last complaint was the water. They have a coffee maker in the bathroom right by the sink and I was very thirsty one night so I decided to get water from the sink. If you stay here I would advise not to. The water tasted like pool water and within an hour my throat was sore and I have been sick ever since. My boyfriend was not affected. he did not drink the water.Aside from all those negative things it would make a person think they would never want to stay here but honestly it was an enjoyable experience. It was our first time going on vacation together. The hotel was clean. There was cable TV though at times we found it difficult to find anything to watch. It was pretty quiet despite the fact that a train runs right behind the hotel- I never would have guessed it. The indoor pool is nice. We were able to get in that several times during the trip and if you hit the right time of the day you can get in when no one else is there : ). The "deluxe" continental breakfast is not too bad either. You can get all sorts of pastry type things from english muffins, toast, blueberry muffins, croissants, bagels, and cereals, donuts, sausage biscuits, orange slices, hard boiled eggs, and various breakfast drinks. The lighting in the room is very nice. I think there are about 7 or 8 lights in just the main room!!! Each one could be operated as a whole by one switch or individually creating as much or as little or as directed light as you need. I thought this was very helpful. There is also a refrigerator in the room as well as microwave. This was very helpful when we were able to buy drinks from the gas station and also left over food and store it inside to keep cool. The bathroom was also nice- not too small. They even left a tiny rubber duck on the edge of the tub which I thought was a cute touch. My final review summarized would be it's a nice hotel. Nowhere is perfect unless you pay way up there for it and for most people they cant afford something like that. This is a hotel for someone who wants to stay somewhere nice but cant exactly afford somewhere really pricey. : ) I hope this helps someone!

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

The hotel offers vending machines with drinks but most of them are about $1.25 or something like that. My boyfriend and I learned it is much cheaper to go to the gas station nearby and buy some drinks for cheaper and just bring them back and store them!!! And be sure you have plenty of drinks! Dont be like me and try drinking the water from the faucet!! Very nasty and made me sick!

Pleasently surprised

I was really expecting an ordinary, noisy hotel right off the interstate. But it was great. Well kept and overall quite. Had a good night's sleep.

Good, Clean, Value

Great travelers hotel, right off I-81 and next to a Cracker Barrel and Shoneys. Clean rooms. Only down side was the train that passes behind the hotel, but my kids thought it was great. Only one train came by during our stay so it's not a big deal.
