My husband was very disappointed with this hotel. It seemed very seedy- like a place people would rent on an hourly basis. Also, They didn't find his reservation even with his confirmation number so he had to pay cash. He left after the one night [...].

no late check in!
Our flight was delayed and we did not arrive at the hotel until 1:15 am. The lobby was locked and no one was present even though our reservation was confirmed for late check in. We ended up staying at the Clarion next door as they were fantastic in assisting us and will never stay in a Red Roof Inn.

Old and creepy
First off I choose the hotel for price. When I first checked in there was a lady in the lobby that looked like she was beaten. The rooms are very nice to a point. The bathtub had weird black strikes on the wall that looked like sloppy painting. The door is very hard to open I had to push an pull up to open it. The people who stay here are scary! [*] Ice machine was out of ice and looked very very very dirty, the vending machine next to it looked like it was broken into. The soda machine on my floor didn't work and took my money. I didn't want to leave the room at all. (I stayed my first night here by myself, my husband graduated from AIT training the next day so he came back with me an I felt safer). This place is very very very creepy!

Cheap Traveler!
Convenient low cost hotel
The hotel is in a less than desirable area of Richmond but it is very convenient to the Richmond Airport. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely nice and accommodating. He let us change rooms so that we could get adjoining rooms with no hassle. If you're leaving out of Richmond early AM, there is no need to get to the airport 2 hours early. We arrived 1 hour early and were at our gate in 15 minutes!

Excellent customer service!
Our first night was spent in a room with air conditioning that did not work right. The next day we were moved to a room with nice cool air...no questions asked....very helpful. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. We needed a couple of shuttles and they were prompt in getting us where we needed to be when we needed to be there. Every one was polite and friendly. Out trip was restful, fun and relaxing.

Williamsburg Traveler
Spend the extra $10 for another place!!!
Seriously though, spend the extra $10 for a different place. There was hair in the shower and in the sink when we arrived, the towels and sheets had spots on them, the walkway by our room reeked of stale beer, there was a puddle of half-dried urine by the trashcan, people were all out in the front of the hotel talking quite loudly about 1:30 in the morning, our door didn't shut well and had tape on it, the carpet in our room had a large wet spot, and other things around just did not make it feel like a safe or clean place. I complained about the towels and sheets after getting all unpacked in our room and settling in at 2:00 am. The desk clerk was very apologetic and offered to change us to another room, but we had already unpacked, it was way late, and we were only staying the one night (I'm not so sure any other room would be much different given all the other problems). Overall, it would be worth it to pay an extra $10 for the nicer hotel. Seriously though, just do it!!

April 17-25 stay
Staff bent over backwards to correct any problems - inoaperable dryer. Staff always greeted me like a friend when went into lobby to get the best free coffee! First night there, desk clerk carried my bag to my room. You wouldn't get that kind of service at Embassy Suites. Location was close to a friends house, so it made it easy for us to get together for our many outings.

Keep Trying You'll make it
The Staff at the reception desk gave the impression of being hours new at the job. I wasn't able to check in til back up help arrived; approximately a 15 minute wait. I learned this was a brand new family operation, ( the family was new ; the hotel was well established in the area). All in All they made me feel welcomed and apologized for my delay checking in. I had a room "yet to be renovated". It was close to office quiet and restful.
