Great place to stay

All service members were extremely attentive and courteous. Food was of great proportions and satisfying. The room was very comfortable, spacious and it didn't stink. Decor was modern and sophisticated. The balcony was cozy and refreshing. Sheraton accommodated myself, my 5month old son and my 21yr old cat. They made an exception for my cat since i left the Tidewater area to escape the hurricane. I would definitely recommend staying here but there is only one thing I didn't like. I paid $9.99 per 24hr period for WiFi. I've stayed at 2 and 3 star hotels and they've offered free wifi. Besides that I liked every aspect of my stay and I'm so thankful for the cat exception.

If you are on a budget I would definitely stop at a grocery store before getting to the hotel. There is a small refrigerator to keep sandwiches, drinks, etc...The room service gets a little pricey.

Not bad.

On the plus side: 1. check in was fast and efficient; 2. room was ready 3. room was clean and had plenty of space 4. Fitness center was bigger than the tiny room I see in some places. On the minus side: 1. The lobby and public areas were overheated. It was uncomfortable to say the least. 2. If I am going to spend over $150 a night for a room I resent paying $10 per day for a WIFI connection. I go to plenty of cheaper motels on business and they all seem to have no problems offering free wifi. 3. The Shula's restaurant was disappointing.

Very nice

I was there for my son's graduation, so I did not have much time to use amenities of the hotel. There were many signs of recent upgrades everywhere in the hotel. Everything looked new from the front lobby to the fitness center, pools and rooms. The room was very nicely decorated with new furniture and a large flat screen tv. The bed was very comfortable. The location was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Sheraton Hotel Roanoke VA

The hotel was very nice over all. I just wish that it is not located at that traffic signal. It takes for ever to exit the hotel.

Great Hotel!

This was a great hotel. A restaurant is located inside the hotel so we didn't have to go out. The beds were super comfortable and the staff was exceptional. The only down side was that the floor we were on have a few noisy couples, but other than that everything was great.

Modern amenities and great location

This hotel was a great deal for us. My husband and I were looking for a relaxing weekend away from home. Our room was comfortable and nicely (and recently) apportioned. The staff at check-in was extremely nice and made us feel as if they were genuinely glad to have us there. Both indoor and outdoor pools were beautiful although we didn't use them as there were several family reunions with small children the same days we were there. Monticello and Charlottesville are a short drive (90 minutes) away. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, single, couple, family, business as a great option for lodging. My only complaint about the hotel at all was not having free internet in the rooms. I don't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that did not offer free wireless service - and I'm no stranger to hotels. The lobby wasn't too far, but it wasn't convenient to go just for free internet access. My 'noisy' rating was mainly due to the multitude of children and their running up and down the halls. Our room was on the first floor near the main exit so rooms on higher floors not near exits are probably less busy.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

If you want great pizza (a slightly sweet crust and sauce) try Goodfellaz. It's on Colonial Street near downtown, but well worth the drive of 10 minutes. Worth trying the local fare!!

Overnight stay on the way to destination

We spent the night here and for the price, it was an extremely clean and adequate room. The staff was competent and helpful to make an overall excellent experience.
