Well-Traveled Man
Great Service, Beautiful Location
Visited my daughter and stayed at the same hotel, Holiday Inn at Tanglewood in Roanoke, VA. The weekend manager was eager to help and very courteous. The staff kept the premises and rooms extremely clean. Location is next to the Blue Ridge Mountains and close to the city. A lot of natural beauty. Lodging price was reasonable. Restaurant always has good food and friendly service.

Carlos, a Brazilian restaurant, has excellent cuisine and sits on a hill that provides a great scenic view, especially at sundown.

Nice hotel, friendly staff
Very helpful and accommodating staff. Clean room and good location. We travel quite a bit and this hotel was perfect for our family.

Traveling for Inlaws
OK Visit
We've stayed at this hotel twice now. The first time, the stay was wonderful. Room was nice, shower was hot and the hotel staff was very friendly. Second time, all was good except that we could not get a hot shower anytime. I think it may be because we were in a "wing" of the hotel rather than the main building, but not completely sure if that is why. Will request that we don't stay in that wing on future visits.

Biz Traveler
Okay for a day
Hotel was easy to find, right off the highway. Banks, shopping and restaurants were very close by. When I put the lid down on the toilet, the space between the tank and the seat was dirty - grimy and there was a reddish stain. There was also hair. One time that I flushed the toilet, it ran for about 30 minutes until we went in and pulled the lid off and stopped it. Check in was easy, I wasn't even asked for ID (slightly worrisome). The hotel was pretty empty, and the housekeeping staff had doors to a lot of rooms open all day, including the one right next to our room. Hotel was very quiet and staff was friendly. It was fine for an overnight stay, but they need to pay a little bit more attention to the details!
