My husband and I love this hotel! We are gym members at home and workout at least 5 times a week. Cambria's pool, spa and fitness room are the best of any hotel we have stayed in anywhere! The rooms are beautifully furnished and our room looked out over Roanoke's famous landmark Mill Mountain Star. The hotel also rents bicycles to ride on the paved trail nearby so we plan to visit again when the weather is amenable to riding.

Super Value!
Very nice place to stay when you are in Roanoke. Short drive to the Jefferson Center. Suites are modern and very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast Buffett and the staff at the hotel were very friendly. The Cambria will be our first choice when we are in Roanoke again.

Good value, but location requires car
Reasonably well appointed. friendly staff. clean rooms, and inexpensive. Elevator floor coverings however were soiled badly.

Highly recommended!
My husband and I stayed here for one night as part of our 5 year anniversary. We ate sushi at Ben Gui (also highly recommended), saw a movie at Valley View Grand, did some shopping and enjoyed the hot tub in the hotel. Staff was kind, the hotel was clean and up to date with the decor. The shower was HUGE and the showerhead was great (massaging options). There was a neat separate sitting/TV area and the King size bed felt huge and was very comfortable! I didn't wanna get out the next morning. :) We didn't use the fitness center, but it was very nice. The only negatives I would note are that there is no outdoor pool and the indoor pool is small. Also, no continental breakfast and the food in the resturant is pretty pricey ($11 for a belgian waffle or $9 for eggs and bacon).

Beautiful and slightly mismanaged
The personnel at the front desk were, always, very helpful and courteous. However, the dining area was severely understaffed; from what i saw, there were four women that worked it in 24 hours, two that couldn't multitask and one that was just rude. As far as the more pertinent amenities, the room was spotless and beautiful and the fitness area was sufficient, along with the indoor pool and spa. Parking was convenient as well as the hotel layout itself. There were many routes to take to get where ever you needed to go in the hotel. My wife and I will, normally, go out of the way to stay at an Embassy Suites and this hotel was somewhat comparable if you were to compare the building itself. As far as what it has to offer inside, not even close. The "hot buffet" breakfast will cost you over $10 and the "cold" over $5, Embassy's is free with a chef serving made to order omelets. I must say, though, all in all this is a great place to stay if you'd like to stay in downtown Roanoke. It's a great location, the staff (for the most part) are very friendly and the rooms are very nice. I would recommend this hotel to a friend traveling to that area.

Short drive from hotel
There are many, places and varieties for dining in downtown and surrounding Roanoke. I was only there for a few days and I received many great suggestions, just from the hotel staff. Although, no matter what your browser may tell you, The Fork In the Ally, is not a good local restaurant to get lunch. The staff was severely discombobulated, could NOT handle a crowd and the food was bland.

Can't go wrong.
The purpose of this hotel stay was to visit my hospitalized mother. This is the closest and nicest hotel to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. One can walk to the medical facility, safely, in 12 minutes. Additionally, there is lovely, 10' wide paved river walk adjacent to the hotel, which incidentally rents bikes to the guests. This hotel appears to be relatively new. The rooms were spacious, modern, and extremely clean. Although not cheap, this facility is much nicer than many others at the same price point.

Dining is available on the premises but there are many other options within 10 minutes drive. The local airport is similarly located very nearby.

Likes to sleep when at a hotel
If you do not have kids...too bad
When we first arrived to the hotel everything looked very nice. It was recently built and in good condition. At check-in the staff was very nice. However when it was time to go to sleep it sounded like a herd of elephants started running around in the room above us. It continued through the night and into the morning. When we called the front desk to complain they simply stated that there were three youth hockey teams staying in the hotel that night and if the parents couldn't control them then neither could they. When I went to check out no apologies were given and I never received a bill. So if you are not traveling with children too bad for you because this hotel does not seem to think it is that important to get a good night sleep. But I mean who comes to a hotel to sleep anyway right?

Most excellent!!
This is a brand new hotel....everything is new and modern. Absolutely beautiful, with a view of the surrounding mountains out our window. What would have made our stay perfect would have been to have a complimentary breakfast included. Breakfast at their bistro is over $9. Nicest accommodations we have ever had!
