Nice older historic boutique experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Public areas need some updating. Room was very nice, carpet needs cleaning.

Charming, historic, thin walls

We went to Richmond to show a film at the Virginia Indie Film Fest (great festival!) I've stayed at the Linden Row many times, and I really do like it a lot for the price. It's just a block from the Richmond Y, where I swim when I go, and the breakfast is OK. The rooms are really nice in this restored brick structure - 13 foot ceilings, comfortable beds, renovated bath. Unfortunately we shared an entrance to our room with some guys who came in at 1 a.m. and proceeded to talk in very loud voices keeping us both up until about 2. It's not the hotel's fault at all, but I'd never noticed how thin the walls were until this visit. I'd strongly recommend asking for one of the rooms in the free standing garden cottage in the middle of the historic courtyard. I've stayed there before and like those rooms much better. Wi-Fi is a little weak in the part of hotel we were in.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Go to Louisiana Flair, a Cajun place a short walk away, for real good New Orleans food: breakfasts are amazing, and everything Chef [...] makes is great. Not much on appearance or decor, but the food is more than the greasy spoon fare that you might expect.

quaint

In walking distance to many downtown areas. Nice to have the van pickup and drop off within 2 miles. Would like to have that expanded to 5 miles.

This hotel is great! Lovely, big room with lots and lots of character. The rest of the facility is interesting and charming. Staff friendly, pleasant and helpful. We were visiting VCU and it was very convenient.

Great choice

I was in town for my daughter's orientation at VCU. I wish I had more time to spend there; I didn't even get to stay for the breakfast.

Strawberry Street Cafe is an old favorite of mine that I still enjoy. Lunch at Sin e pub was great, I highly recommend it. If you are using the hotel shuttle, make sure the driver knows where the restaurant is before you get in!

good choice for us!

OUr room was large, and very nicely decorated, with all of the expected amenities. we walked to and from the restaurant 4 blocks away, and there were lots of choices. The outside was not representative of the condition of the inside or the positive friendly attitude of the staff, as the wood trim needs painting pretty badly. We wold definatley stay there again for a much longer stay.
