Disappointment at the Hyatt

Although this hotel has a nice appearance, I was disappointed with the following in my room: 1) The carpet was wet around the A/C unit 2) The bathtub did not drain properly. 3) Staff was nice....once you got their attention. The person has other duties and may not be at the front desk to greet you, which I feel is very important.

Just OK

We went to Richmond because my husband had a test to be a state trooper but we wanted to stay an extra day to relax and enjoy the town. The hotel was ok. It was very busy that weekend and really could not enjoy the pool it was just to busy. The breakfast was ok. Just cereal, bagels and fruit. Hot foods were available but with an extra cost. The room was very nice. Was not to happy when the room service threw away a bag that she thought was trash but was actually very important. When I ran down stairs to get the manager to get them to return the bag she told me that they would have to go dumpster diving. I told her kindly that it was not trash that it had valuables in it she walked away very RUDE. Not the best management but we got the bag back!! We have stayed with Hyatts before and love it. This was not the best hotel though.

consistent and quality stay

Hyatt has been one of our preferred hotels for business travel and for good reason. Always clean, courteous, and a consistently good product. Travel with my family did not dissappoint.

Okay place

Location served its purpose for the wedding we were attending. From the photos of the hotel site on line, the pool appeared to be much larger so that was misleading and quite a disappointment.I know web site photos always look better than the actual place, but there was an extreme difference in this case. The pool towels ran out and weren't replenished for a while. The breakfast was a major disappointment. One had to pay for the hot food except oatmeal, and the hot food was poorly cooked. The bathroom floor wasn't cleaned the following morning and it desperately needed to be.We walked on towels while in that room. The TV had very few free options for viewing, and it wasn't set up for easy channel surfing to see what was playing.I expected a higher level from the Hyatt, but in reality it wasn't any better than a Days Inn.The staff was nice however.

A Modernized Enjoyable Stay

When I walked into hotel, I was immediately impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the very nice, modern design of the lobby. The modern styling extended to the room itself which was very nice and functional. In fact for a room that wasn't any bigger than a normal, small hotel room, they made the most of the area, so that I had a separate desk/work area, a living room type area, and bedroom--all very comfortable. Everything looked just like it does on the website, so no surprises. In addition, this hotel was near a large shopping center, the highway, and several good restaurants, yet tucked quietly away next to some office buildings in a nice, woodsy office park. Also, the fitness room has 4-5 pieces of equipment (treadmills, bike, etc.) that have a large video screen for the controls and also allow you to watch the hotel's cable channels or listen to local radio station. The hotel provides disposable earpods to listen in. I would recommend this hotel and will stay there again if in the area.

the one thing that stood out was the EXCELLENT customer service we received from the moment we checked in to when we checked out. I wish I could remember her name, but the agent who checked us in was friendly, efficient and just great overall. she took the time to give us a tour of the hotel, which is so unusual at most hotels. we were there for the race and she took the time to print us a map to the race track. thank you!!!

Staff was helpful, kind and courteous.,

Our stay was most enjoyable because of the staff, the comfortable and super clean room. The bed was so comfortable and cozy, we could have slept until noon, but we were there visiting our daughter just for the week-end. Our thanks to everyone who made our stay such a pleasant experience. We will definitely recommend the Hyatt Place to everyone we know.
