Very disapointed
Staff is great. Room needs upgrade. Carpets is very stained. Sheets look like they were not changed. Mattress needs replacement because you can feel the springs around the edge of the mattress. You should not be charged for parking at this hotel but you will be charged. I Will not visit again. Sorry!

Not bad for the money.
Checked in late and got very good service from the clerk who directing me to good local amenities. Easy access to downtown and the major traffic arteries. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and well stocked with bath items. Walls were a bit thin but the view was nice.

Beauregard's Thai Room had nice service and decent Thai for the $. A block and a half north of the hotel.

Good downtown location
Stayed here for a conference in town, it is within walking distance of VCU and downtown, without the price of the Crowne Plaza or the Omni. Many great restaurants nearby. The hotel is nice for a mid-level hotel. However, my room smelled like smoke (it was a nonsmoking room). Also the downtown location means more noise, which is not the hotel's fault but something to consider. I heard police cars a couple of times during the night. Parking is not free and they don't make that quite clear when booking. The free breakfast is like it is at most places: rubbery eggs and sugary pastries that were warmed up in a microwave.
