Room furnishings were outdated and motel seemed to be in need of an update. Room was fairly clean but carpet was old, not particularly clean, and was pulled up in areas (I.e, not smooth and flat). Night clerk was not very friendly. Room was not dark enough because it faced parking lot and curtains could not shut out light from top of windows. Not a bad place but would not choose it again.

Richmond hotel
It was comfortable and clean. The staff was helpful. The location was right off the interstate so other than a mini-mart, there was no place to walk around. It would be fine for a nite or two.

Could have been better with a little effort
I Used cheap-tickets to Book a non-smoking single king-size bed room and when we got there we were given a two queen-size room with bad smoking odor. Asked for a non-smoking single king-size room and were given a smoking- king-size room. Asked again for a non-smoking room and had to settle for a two queen-size bed room without odor. The A/C system was not drying the air. Very damp but cool air. Breakfast was very good and front of building very clean and inviting. The Back entrance to the building was propped open during the day without a key pass slot, dirty, in poor repair and a personal garden was being grown in buckets and in between the shrubbery. The place Needs new management!

Brief and Pleasant Stay
This was a one day sightseeing related trip to Richmond on the way to North Carolina. From check-in to check-out the experience at the Country Inn and Suites was very professional. Friendly staff, modern and clean room, an okay breakfast the next morning. The eggs were a bit bland, but overall, a very restful and pleasant stay at a very reasonable price.

Tired travelers
Our new top choice for family travel!
My husband and I were traveling from a graduation ceremony in northwestern CT to Richmond VA, planning to spend only the day there before returning to CT for a graduation party the following day. We enjoy staying in suites for their spaciousness and extra amenities, and this is by far the best we've ever stayed in. Our room was very comfortable and very clean, no odors of smoke or carpet cleaner, in very good shape without anything broken or appearing old or outdated--5 stars for that category! The staff was also extremely helpful in solving a problem with my cell; in our haste to pack everything for three different occasions and to get on the road as early as possible for VA, I had left my computer case with my laptop AND my cell phone charger at home. I had charged my phone at our relatives' home in CT before heading out the next morning, but the traffic to Richmond was TERRIBLE (we can't blame that on Country Inn and Suites!). I completely lost power to my phone 3 hours away from Richmond; we had used it quite a bit in trying to reroute our trip for our GPS. Not only could I get some work done on their free wireless computer in the lobby, but the manager even found a charger that I could use to recharge my cell! I worked there for about 2 hours late at night, and families on vacation were streaming in to find suites, so I was also able to hear how wonderful the staff was with families, including children of all ages. For those who enjoy reading (even during school vacation!), they had a library in the lobby with books for all age levels, and a sign that said if people wanted to take a book with them, they just had to promise to drop it off at any Country Inn and Suites when they had finished it. They had everything we needed and more, and an exceptional staff available on a 24 hour basis!

Four Stars
After reading some of the harsh and often gruesome reviews of many other motels, we were hesitant to stay anywhere! However, the reviews on this motel were at least average and the pictures looked good, so we thought we give it a try. We were thoroughly pleased. The reception was friendly, the service was good, and the room was very clean. I would stay here again.
