Welcome to the Clarion Hotel. Close to everything far from ordinary we are Richmond's most central accommodation and convention site located at the crossroads nestled on the north side of the boulevard and closest hotel from Richmond International Speedway and less than two miles from Virginia Union University and less than three miles from Virginia Commonwealth . We are just walking distance from the Diamond home of Richmond Flying Squirrels minor league baseball team. The property offers free scheduled shuttle service, a free continental breakfast, free wireless internet, free parking and weekday newspapers. Our Plaza Ballroom is more than 5200 square feet and can accommodate up to 600 people.

Nice room

First impression was not too good: The A/C in the lobby was off; the mens room smelled like the tolets had never been flushed and one sink was stopped up. There is nothing in walking distance. The restuarant had so few customers that I took it as a sign to get a sub at Krogers instead. BUT... The room was very nice and big; the A/C in the room was already turned on and set to a comfortable temperature; the bed was very comfortable; it was clean; wifi worked well. So, on the parts that really matter, they did a nice job. Neverthe less, I'm not sure I would recommend to a friend.

Not Bad

The Hotel is an older Holiday Inn. Rooms as well as the entire facility seem to be outdated. However everything was clean with the exception of a few stains on the sheets. I arrived at night and it did not appear to be in a safe place. Unless you are on a strict budget for either business or personal reasons, I would not recommend.
