Average hotel...ok for an overnight stay
The hotel was in a nice area in the city and the breakfast was decent but I asked for a 7am wake up call that I did not receive, There was a half used bottle of shampoo at the top of the bathtub, and what looked like candle wax on one of the bed comforters....but the beds were comfortable.

Richmond Amateur Executive
Comfortable beds, smoke-free quiet room. Friendly desk staff. Adequate breakfast. Dirty floors, severely dusty @ edges of room. Cracked, old, nasty-water-dripping commode seat & lid. Day 2 replaced with too-small round seat & lid on oblong porcelain toilet. Really! Manager/owner offered to switch room or check-out. Unbelievable. I asked for local restaurant gift cards as conciliatory gesture. Instead I received an expired coupon booklet, 15% discount to 3 restaurants, a tin of cookies & a hodge-podge of candy, snacks & drink mix. Where's the commitment to hospitality?

Memorable Night
I had a night getaway with my boyfriend of 7 years. We had dinner at Olive Garden right down the street and stayed the night in the hotel. The hotel staff was very welcoming! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the plasma TV was great. It did not have a DVD player, so my bf brought his PS3 to plug in. Easy set up. Bfast was extremely good with muffins, bagels, and a waffle machine! The only thing I could complain was the night we stayed was also the night a high school band stayed, so I could randomly hear people yelling. I would have liked it if they put us in a room away from the kids.

Good place for the price!
It was a nice hotel, I stayed for 3 nights while on business in Richmond. The hotel was clean, the staff were a little "deer in the headlights" dense but what can you expect from a minimum wage job. The breakfast area was ok - never before saw an "egg patty" before, quite interesting! My hotel room was very comfortable and the king size bed was terrific. TV had issues with sound going up and down for no apparent reason, but still had really nice TVs in the room.

Best Western executive
You could smell the mold immediately when you enter the hotel through the elevator, the room smell however was the worst, will never stay in best western again.

Moved our son to the Richmond area for a new job
A recent college grad music major, our son landed a job as an audio editor in Richmond. The location of this hotel allowed us to get him settled in the house, go out to dinner, get to the malls to get stuff for the house, while not crowding him or hovering. Though the room was small it was adequate for our needs. The air conditioners were the older type and was very loud. The outdoor pool was nice, but there were no towels there as mentioned in the room and the pump never seemed to be on. The cl level was low. We got a great price via Orbitz, but probably would choose another hotel next time - and there will be more visits to Richmond, VA Beach, and Charlottesville.
