Americas Best Value Inn

Showed up at 6pm to check in. When I got in my room it had obviously not been cleaned. The headboard had fallen off the wall and the towels had holes in them. Mirror had cracks in it. Talked to the front desk clerk and he switched my room. The new room was what I would expect from a 1 star. Had a bed and a shower and an old TV, which is fair for the $40 a night I paid. Could not figure out the channels for the life of me. Also some one was knocking on my door around 2am, apparently she was supposed to meet some one in this room. Was not able to locate a "do not disturb" sign for house keeping the next day. Also the water pressure in the shower could have been better. For some reason on my 2nd day, my room key decided not to work. Had to go to the front desk to have it reset. The location was great however. Really close to some decent places to eat, grocery store and a PutPut golf course that had Go Karts. Also was not too far a drive to downtown Richmond. Also the free WiFi was fast for hotel speeds and had a strong signal. All in all I am in no rush to stay here again, but wouldn't hate the idea of it. When the rooms are in proper order, it certainly is worth the $40 I paid per night. However I think next time I might pay a little more to stay at a nicer place. Decent motel for a short stay, but for long visits fork out some extra dough.

We were in Richmond for the Sprint Cup Race. Many of the hotels were totally booked. Found the Americas Best Inn to still have vacancies at a reasonable price. We rented two rooms. Both rooms were found to be less than desireable. Room one had dirty bed sheets, with a couple of the electric outlets not functioning. Room two had no telephone service for a wake up call, nor an alarm clock. Television had a very snowy looking picture on all channels. In the morning I woke up to find some sort of beetle or water bug under my blanket. Not a good way to start the day. The manager did however credit a discount to our rooms when informed of our complaints. I have stayed at other Americas Best Inns and altough they are budget hotels, I have always found them to be clean. Hopefully management will make a better effort to cleaning up this place.

The staff were friendly and accommodated my special request. I found the rooms were very quiet and average quality and clean.

THIS WAS THE WORST AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. THE BATHROOMS NEEDED REPAIR. THERE WASN'T A CLOCK AND NO COFFEE IN THE ROOM OR THE LOBBY. I HAVE STAYED AT HUNDREDS OF HOTELS THIS PRICE AND EVERYONE OFFERED COFFEE. THE DESK CLERK ONLY SPOKE BEHIND A GLASS, CHECK IN AND OUT, LOBBY DOOR WAS LOCKED, VERY IMPERSONAL. IT WAS VERY NOISY MOST OF THE NIGHT. I WILL NOT STAY THERE AGAIN.

Horrible! To get your keys you have to give your CC and ID to a lady at a window, you can't even walk into the lobby. The room was a good size, but paint was falling off the ceiling, the bed was rock hard, the shower and toilet were stained with years of use- disgusting.

Overall good

It was quiet, set back from the road. I felt safe, but it did not feel very clean. There was a musty smell the whole time. I brought my own pillow, just in case. For a one night stay, I think it was ok. Good price. The hotels down the road were disgusting and dirty looking.

It was restfull and clean except for needing some updating and a little mold on shower curtain

Stayed one night. We had no problems. It was basically a place to sleep for cheap. Loved having the frig and microwave. Would have liked a coffee pot or at least coffee in the lobby. Coming off Chippenham, it was easy turning in. From the other direction, you have to make a U-turn, but it wasn't a problem. Only one person working and he couldn't recommend restaurants in the area. That was a little disappointing, but we found an IHOP down the road.

Only drawbacks are no breakfast on premises and no coffemaker in room. It's just off Eastbound lane of Hwy. 60; be sure to go just East of Hwy. 150 and watch carefully for motel sign--it's set back behind a Mexican restaurant, but being set back from Rt. 60 reduces noise--my room on back side of motel was very quiet.
