Omni Newport News Hotel

over all nice stay, however there is no sign leading to property, so we were lost looking for the place late at night

We had an excellent quiet room, bed was a little too soft and tv could be updated. Food and service was excellent, pool and exercise room were great. Excellent Sunday Brunch and the service was excellent.

Excellent staff; limited valet service, but parking very close to front door. Clean room, comfortable bed. I rarely sleep all night in a hotel and did so that night. The Hotel is just off the interstate and for those who want to stay on the other side of the tunnel, it is perfect. It was kind of weird, though, that the restaurant that does night time room service is all Italian. It would have been nice to offer a very limited (American) meal, even if it is toast cereal, coffee, peanut butter and jelly, etc. I would stay there again

WE HAVE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL BEFORE AND THE PET CHARGE WAS $25 , BECAUSE OF THE HURRICANE IRENE THE PET CHARGE WENT UP TO $50. THIS WAS NOT RIGHT, ALSO THE PRICES IN THE RESTAURANT WERE VERY HIGH FOR WHAT YOU GOT, NOT REAL HAPPY WITH THE OMNI - NEWPORT NEWS, VA

Well being that this was a four star hotel, my expectations were a little high. I found that a double room deluxe was just another name for a standard room. The advertisement made the room seem spacious and it was not. The television was located in an old chest and the breakfast table was very small with a lamp and ice container. Didn't leave much room for eating. Bathroom was spacious, but tub needed to be a little more clean. Also, I had to deal with playful teenagers yelling in the room down the hall at 1:00 in the morning. While there I attempted to go to the pool but it was just too hot for a heated pool. The fitness center was nice. My family and I just had to make the best of it. Compared to other trips, this was not the best experience. However, the hotel staff were very polite and helpful.

TV Controller didn't work. TV was outdated.

My husband and I had to go there for a business trip for two nights and booked it through a travel website. The first weekend night we arrived, the front desk was waiting for us which I thought was so personal and friendly [...]. Also, the bathroom toilet made a screaching sound everytime you used it for about 2 minutes. And I needed ice and had to go to four different floors before finding a working ice machine. I just thought that was weird for a four star hotel and again another inconvenience. We tried to go out at the nightclub attached to the hotel and it just seemed dead for a saturday night. Needless to say, our first night wasn't that great. However, the second night was a vast improvement. The front desk helped me change rooms and helped to escort my luggage. The king room, non-smoking was really fantastic. There weren't any crazy perks but it was relaxing. The gym and pool was really nice there too. The brunch sunday morning seemed worthwhile and the restaurant with the piano player was really a nice touch. Overall, I would recommend this hotel [...]

This was once a very nice hotel but I don't think their maintenance has kept pace. The bathroom needed updating, including a toilet which was not well fixed to the floor.
