Temporary stay
Needed a room to change clothes for a wedding; couldn't get an hourly rate. Otherwise, I got what I paid for. Could have used info that there is a pool so I could pack a swimsuit and take a dip after a long drive.

Unbeatable location for the price
my stay was wonderful. I would leave in the morning and nby the time I returned early afternoon, my room was cleaned. The staff was friendly and helpful. 24 hour IHOP down the road.

I paid in advance but did not stay. The rooms were filthy. It was in a Ghetto area. There were 6-8 groups of low-life scum bags hanging outside their rooms. I took the loss...did not spend the night and went to a nice hotel, The Hammpton Inn and Sweets on Jefferson Av. in Newport News...Decent price with militar discount. Clean, spacious and no LOW LIFE scum bags hanging around. [...]

If you can afford better, go elsewhere!
This was the worst hotel I have stayed in in a while. I understand that it was obtained at ta discounted price...but the towels in the room were limited (1 per person nothing extra), there was no iron, no kleenex, very noisy...especially when people were leaving their rooms. The staff was nice...but go to econolodge or some place else. It is in a good location, they have the brochures in the hotel lobby, but again the customer service left a lot to be desired. But, the area is great!

The Days Inn at Newport News was good for a quick trip and a low budget. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was nearby to several restaurants and the beach was about an hour away. However, if you were planning a trip that was more than a few days I wouldn't recommend this hotel, but it works well for a quick weekend trip to the beach.

Hotel on the rise
There was a lot of activity at the hotel the weekend I stayed. They were emerged in heavy renovation. However, the work didn't impede on my sleep on movement in or around the hotel. The staff was exceptional and I only had one request that went unresolved. Overall, great stay.
