Classy Lynchburg hotel with renowned restaurant

Average hotel
I didn't find anything spectacular about this hotel. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There was no channel guide for the tv. The bar/lounge had stopped serving food already when I arrived at 8:45pm. The bar staff was pleasant but you could tell they wanted to hurry up and close. So no food available later in the evening, I had to order pizza delivery from my iPhone as there were no menus or suggestions for outside food. Also no Internet access for my kindle, which was frustrating.

Kirkley Hotel - Amazing

Convenient and Comfortable
I was shocked by how comfortable I was here at the Kirkley. The beds are great and the furniture is really comfortable (and nice looking). Also, the bathrooms are clean, and the towels are both large and soft...a big difference from many hotel brands who over starch their linens. The hotel is clean inside and there is abundant parking. More importantly, the staff is inviting and helpful. Definitely a place to stay for a night or two on your travels through central Virginia!

Looking for a good breakfast? Take a short (4.5 mile) drive down Highway 29 to the Market on Main for a tasty Southern Breakfast at an even tastier price. Nice people, good food, right in the heart of downtown Lynchburg. Access to the highway is quick and easy from both ends of the excursion.

Frequent visitor to area; first time stay at Kirkley
Check in..a breeze. Ammenities...nicely appointed and spotless room! Friendly staff! We visit the area frequently and this is the first time we stayed at the Kirkley? We will be booking our next visit within the next week...we will be staying at the Kirkley again!

Excellent Hotel - Clean and nice
I like the Kirkley hotel. The rooms are very clean. The rooms are large and everything is up to date. The lobby is bright and cheerful. The indoor pool is large and does not feel like a hotel pool. The price is very good value for what is offered compared at other hotels for the same price or more. The Kirkley Hotel is more like an Inn in a Hotel configuration. It is a place I like staying at.

Didn't believe it until we saw it
Don't let the outside fool you, this hotel is recently renovated and is incredible inside. At only 2/3 the price of nearby chain hotels like Marriott, it's pretty much an amazing deal - you won't find a better value in Lynchburg. We took the risk after reading the other reviews here, and the place was all that and more. The only issue we had was that the battery for the card swipe on the door of our initial room was dead, so we had to make two trips back to the lobby. We were promptly moved to another room, of course, and were also given vouchers for a full breakfast the next day. Be aware, the restaurant's dinner service closes at 8:30pm during the week (which caught us off guard) and we had to order from local delivery. On the upside, when we had no way to store our extra food, the staff wheeled a microwave/fridge up to our room with no up-charge.

Awesome!!!
This is my and my husbands third time at this hotel and everytime it just gets better...even though they were not completely done with the renovations our stay memorable. Taking our daughter to Liberty U. for her first semester and we had to stay an extra night. Without reservation they let us stay at the same discounted rate we had booked for. Not to mention how friendly the staff is and we will probably be there again for Family weekend in March.
