You Can Do Better
This is not the best hotel I've ever stayed at. It is really a cheap motel -- maybe $20 - $40 a night, striving to be something more and not really getting it. The room was adequate and clean but small for the price. The furniture was sparse and of lower-motel quality. The internet connection was there but the signal was weak and often faulty. The amenities were not of the quality of a hotel in the $60 - $100 a night price range. However, they did clean the room and the view of the mountains from the balcony is beautiful. Oh, and the restaurant was pretty mediocre as well -- eat somewhere else.

The town of Lexington is right down the street and it has a beautiful downtown with the amenities you'd expect of a former Southern town turned college town.

Bugs,Bugs, Bugs
When we first entered the room I noticed dead bugs (stink bugs) on the floor, window sill, outside the door. I called the desk and requested someone come up and vacuum up the dead bugs. They sent some one up in about 15 minutes. Later my husband and I went down to the restruant and ate dinner. when we came back up I noticed a live stink bug coming out of the air conditioning unit; this grossed me out. Later, we saw another one on the window, another one on the wall, later another one on the light fixture above my bed. In all my husband and I killed about 6 or 8 bugs. I attempted to call the front desk but no one answered the phone. It was impossible for us to sleep comfortably for fear of a stink bug crawling on the bed. We were concerned about the bugs getting in our luggage or clothing. We were in town for my daughter's graduation from LU in Linchburg and had to leave very early the next morning. No one answered the front desk phone to complain to, but I did leave a detailed note in the room about this awful experience. Shame on you Days Inn-Lexington, Va.!!! Clean your place up!!

It was okay for the price
The room was really small. The hotel is in need of remodeling. The Best Western across the street was much much nicer for the same price.

Pay money for no service
Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights - not once did our room get cleaned, sheets changed or clean towels dropped off -- when we wanted clean towels we had to go to the office, had to go to the office for toilet paper and coffee for our coffee pot, took out our own garbage -- terrible service

Nice place to spend the night
nice, clean rooms and friendly staff. Noisy at times but overall a good place to stop over for the night. It was raining so we didn't get to check out the pool or playground though they both looked clean and well kept. Will most likely stay there again.

Chilly port in a storm
Drove up from Charlotte through rain. Found hotel ok, just off interstate. Full! - good thing I had a reservation. Room was OK, but toilet was loose. Everytime I would stand up from it, it would rattle & shake. The room could have used more electric outlets. The light over the sink was dimmer than a dunce. The next morning there was no hot water. I was lucky - I got the last of the not-yet-cold water. When I asked about it at the desk, I was told that all the hot water was out. Some kind of trouble? Or was it just too many guests all showering at once? Ate breakfast at Aunt Sara's - nothing about it could I recommend. But it did save me from having to go into Lexington that morning to eat.

Pleasant overall experience
Hey, it's a Days Inn. It's a budget motel in a convenient location. Pretty good value for the money. Fairly clean room. Comfortable enough. Lots of families with noisy kids running around; but that's exactly what we expected, especially in the summer. This Days Inn has a good, reasonably priced restaurant on site: Aunt Sarah's Pancake House, which offers much more than pancakes. The one surprise amenity that we haven't found at other Days Inns was the pink plastic battery-operated vibrating cigar thingy I located in the desk drawer right beside the ubiquitous Gideon Bible. It was a nice touch as my wife had forgotten to bring hers along. Just kidding. LOL On a serious note, if you're a stickler for hygiene, as my darling wife is, the standard operating procedure for this establishment's room cleaning was called into question by the neglect of the cleaning staff to remove this object from the desk drawer prior to re-use of the room. Or maybe they were just being nice? My wife made me wash my hands after handling this toy for just a minute. I was also a little disappointed that no one restocked our coffee for the in-room coffee maker after we used the coffee maker the first morning. We were there for 3 nights. Maybe the cleaning staff thought the animated pink cigar toy would stimulate us better than having extra caffeine on hand? If you're like me, and take small surprises in stride, this place is just fine.

Short drive from hotel
Just 1/3 mile south of the hotel is a classic family Drive-in movie theater of the vintage we rarely see anymore. Hull's Drive-in. Affordable and rated PG fun.

Nice
Rooms were clean and comfortable. The one huge problem was lack of hot water on both days of our stay.
