Awesome!!!

We had a wonderful night here and we're very impressed with all aspects of this hotel. The room was gorgeous and comfortable, and included many thoughtful touches we didn't expect. We slept well, the staff was great and overall had a perfect experience for a great value. I would definitely stay here again!

A Wonderful Stay!

My husband and I stayed here the night before we left for our honeymoon and we had a wonderful time! The front desk was so courteous and when they heard that we were there for our honeymoon, they upgraded our room to a suite that was hypo-allergenic with a beautiful view! The room was sparkling and very spacious. Beautiful shower and bathroom sink. When I forgot my hairbrush, they gave me another one. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat! :)

Very comfortable and convenient

Every enjoy this hotel, close to the Dulles airport, with free shuttle starting from 4:15 early morning, so I can catch my early flight . The room is very clean and comfortable, with sotfa and writing desk. I would stay there if next time I come to Dulles again.

Convenient

This hotel is conveniently located next to airport and you can't beat the hotel for the price! However, there was a fight outside of my hotel room at 5 a.m and there was blood left on the floor and clothing in the elevator. When explaining my dissatisfaction to the hotel employees they were less than sympathetic.

meh. ok

I booked this hotel for the pool and jacuzzi. It was my bday so I didn't mind spending more than I normally would for these amenities. Upon check in we were told the pool etc. is only open on the weekend. Great! Except we were staying Wed through Fri not the weekend. Then we got our keys and as we opened the door, we found a man all cozied up on the couch enjoying a book. Clearly we were both given the same room. In shock, my boyfriend and I went back to the lobby for a new unoccupied room. In the restaurant, the bartender forgot about my drink. My boyfriend finished 1/2 of his before mine came. Other than that. The food is good, beds are super comfortable, and the staff is friendly. It's tough to make a recommendation after we were given keys to someone else's room. Are your belongings safe when you leave? Anyone could walk in on you at any moment. If you put that aside, and if you're looking for just a place to sleep, this location is fine. If you're looking for a place for stay during holiday I would look somewhere else.

Our first trip to Washington DC

All I can say is - Hyatt - pay attention to this hotel - start fixing it up! And lowering the price! Or give better amenities for the price. I saw the other reviews and thought - well - how bad could it be? I've stayed at plenty of other Hyatt's in other states and they were wonderful which is why I chose Hyatt for this trip - I stayed with my family here for 4 nights and here is my list of gripes: 1. First night - only 2 sets of towels, even though 4 people were staying - when I asked for more, the guy at the front desk gave me 2 hand towels and told me that was all they had. So we had to share towels the 1st night. 2nd night, we were good, 3rd night, I had to ask for more because again, only left us with 2 sets. The maid had no washclothes, so she gave my husband 2 bath towels! Then, we are in our room and about 10 min later, she just opens our door and walks in to give us more washclothes~ She didnt even knock! Thank goodness, we were just watching tv, but still, pls knock next time! 2. I overpaid horribly! - no free breakfast. Another couple we met at this hotel, stayed at the Hyatt Place around the corner for half of what I paid and they got free breakfast!! Same amount of people! 3. Never vacuumed our room - I know because the same crumbs that were there when we first walked in were still there when we left! The walls needed a good paint job and scrubbing too. 4. Smoking should not be allowed so close to entrance. When you walk out of hotel, you are hit with smokers. And when you re-enter - smokers and the dirty smell of smoke from the ashtrays is right there!. They should make smokers go down further away from entrance. 5,. Buffet breakfast left something to be desired. For $20 a person- I would expect at least pancakes or waffles - In short - find another hotel to stay at - as for the no free wi-fi - that is crazy too! I went to the local frozen yogurt place and got free wi-fi! Get with the times Hyatt -

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

For food - dont go to Red, Hot & Blue restaurant - it is right near this hotel - horrible! Chicken was pink and the pulled pork tasted like the ashtrays outside our hotel - if you are looking for good Italian - it is a bit of a drive - but worth it, look up Luciano's restaurant. Dont remember the town - but excellent food and service!

Weekend Getaway

For the price the room was good. It was a very warm weekend, and air conditioner did not seem to keep room as cool as we would have like, however, it was not terrible. Room was clean and comfortable otherwise, staff was friendly.

Shuttle Users Be Warned.

Terrible Shuttle Experience. Going from the hotel to the airport, the van/shuttle driver want to drop us off at the departure location. This is the same location as the pick up. We had several bags and I insisted that the driver drop us off at arrivals, not departures. I was surprised that airport employees, not pilots and cabin crew, also took the Hyatt hotel's van/shuttle, to and from work. By providing this service to IAD employees, the driver made a few extra tips. Is this an arranged contract? Shared shuttle was not mentioned. I was surprised that a hotel rated with 4 stars would lack the 4 star experience. I will not be staying at this Hyatt hotel when traveling in and out of the Dulles International Airport. My Hyatt experience started with a simple phone call to update our late check in. Reservations seemed clueless about a guest calling to make a late check in request. Additional questions about the hotel shuttle couldn't be answered and the wrong number, for the hotel, was given out by this reservation specialist. I was surprised that airport employees also took the Hyatt hotel's van/shuttle. The drivers made a few extra tips by providing this service to IAD employees. Again, really lacked that 4 star experience. We didn't receive a warm or friendly welcome. Front desk only had one employee, that seemed very overwhelmed by his job. Our reservation included free in-room internet. When I mentioned this promotion, the person tired to tell me it was only free in the lobby and business room. I showed him my printed out confirmation for in-room internet and he needed to confirm this promotion with his manager. The Manager knew about the promotion and instructed how to apply the promotion to my room. There seems to be a lack of communication as to what promotions the hotel offers. Always a good idea to have it on paper or on your smart phone. After a long travel day, I asked how long the restaurant would be open and was told it would be open until 10:00 p.m. When my child and I arrived at the restaurant at 9:30 p.m., they were closed and was only serving at the bar. It would have been nice to receive the correct information. The bar food was okay. I think I would have liked to order room service and avoid the mentioned experience. Our room was nice and clean. The alarm clock was not user friendly. I used my own cell phone for an alarm. At this point, I didn't have the confidence in the hotel's staff to request a wake up call. In the a.m., baggage pick-up had to be requested several times. Did I mention this isn't a 4 star experience? Our check out was average. Lastly, the van/shuttle to the airport was frustrating. As I mentioned before, this van/shuttle provides additional service to the IAD employees. The first stop was not at arrivals, but to departures. All the IAD employees got off at this stop. Our driver informed us that this was our drop off. We had several bags and I insisted to have the driver drop us off at arrivals. He had to pick up at 2H first and than drove us around to arrivals. I have never used a hotel van/shuttle that paid more attention the convenience of IAD employees and not the guest. This Hyatt hotel "Needs That Special Something".

Something wrong with the four star rating

Well, the front desk hostess was very nice. But it was all down hill from there. The hotel bathroom smelled like dirty feet. The shower curtain had mold on it. The towel rack was falling off the wall. My socks kept sticking to dirty spots on the rug. And it was the saggiest bed I ever laid in. I couldn't move my body because it sunk into the middle part of the bed and I couldn't climb out of it. And I am a petite person. Well, we left after one night instead of staying for our scheduled two nights there.
