Sweat & Sour Stay
Sour Trip Journey Aug 11, 2009
Family planned vacation[...] never cross our mind that this vacation will be without complimentry breakfast as all our ... previous vacations that would have saved us atleast $200. Will never stay at this hotel again for family vacation. Wanted to change from 9 days/night stay to 6 days/night stay to spend 3 days/night at N.Y city - called for this change in two weeks advance notice either to change it to 6 days/night or let us stay at N.Y City Crown Plaza hotel for 3 nights, they never allowed us to do that said it was pre-paid. Imagine two weeks in advance notice for this change, they very rudly refused to make this change, since it was pre-paid.[...]It was quite and peaceful hotel, but money vice, hospitality and customer service it sucks. The money that I paid to stay at this hotel for 9 days/night was not worth it for my this year vacation.

salads are cheap and tasty at this restaurant. The 22oz drafts are good especially when sipped on the patio where smoking was permitted.

DC dalliance
kebower Aug 6, 2009
The hotel was pleasant for a business stay. They even had a 5-6pm "Meet the Manager" mixer. Hollihans was very nice although ... expensive. Facility is a dream. The second floor rooms have a rear exit to the parking deck - very handy. Big flat panel tv. I was too tired from the day to thoroughly explore the facility but generally found it better than average in nearly every way. The air temperature control was unclear and the noisy fan kept coming on all night.

Very Nice Hotel
Jaymes Jul 17, 2009
I was in DC for training class at the MicroTek Center. This hotel is easy walking distance to the training center and the ... price was really good for prepaid room. Rooms have refrigerators so you can buy food and store it for later. Walls seemed somewhat thin and I could hear adjoining rooms too much during the day, but by 10pm it had quieted down nicely. Rooms were clean, staff were courteous and helpful. Wednesday nights there is a "meet the manager" reception in the lobby with free food, wine, and beer (and soft drinks). A lot of pilots were staying here, which tells me it is a solid hotel and not overpriced. It is a quick ride from the airport and they offer a free shuttle. Don't forget to tip the driver. The shuttle will also take you places in the morning and pick you up later in the day but you need to request this service the night before and I'm not sure how far they go. There are many restaurants very close by, and even a couple of grocery stores. Worldgate Center right across the street has a lot of shopping and restaurants available, most with outdoor seating for nice days.

We have always loved the Crown Plaza,But this one at Dullas is no comparison to the one in Knoxville Tennessee,Someone need ... to go look at the Crown Plaza in Knoxville TN,All Crown Plaza Hotels should look the same .At Dulles we got up with a terriable backache that was with us all day.The room we was in had the most horriable beds, we will never stay there again.

Washington DC trip
Amanda B Jun 7, 2009
We took a family trip to Washington, DC. I was not very impressed with the hotel staff. They were not helpful unless I pushed ... for answers. They did not go out of their way to help or recommend ideas. The rooms were not necessarily cleaned every day, . I would say they were "organized" but the beds were made and that was good as well as the towels being changed daily. However, the cleaning service did not go out of their way to clean the coffee maker or even empty out the melted ice in the ice bucket. I would have preferred a place that made me and my kids feel more "welcomed" than just a "customer" during my stay.

" A great vacation"
Janice Jun 1, 2009
Although my husband and I enjoyed the vacation, We did not receive enough information from you or the staff about the toll ... roads and when to expect them. We travelled into Washington everyday on a toll road. If I had known this I would chosen a better location for the stay. Also a book with the better restaurants in the area would have been nice.

Front desk needs some work
axg May 25, 2009
I had a reservation for a room with 2 beds. However, on checking in, the front desk clark ([...]) informed me that they had ... no rooms with double beds. I told her specifically that it was mentioned in the reservation. She asked me to contact Orbitz saying that when I reserved the room through Orbitz, there was no guarantee that I would be provided with my choice. Anyways, I called Orbitz customer service and explained situation. They put me on hold and talked to [...] at the front desk. Violla!! after about 15 minutes [...] suddenly found a non smoking room with 2 beds.....pretty poor first impression.....Apart from this episode that left a bad taste, the stay was comfortable.Another incident, a couple staying at the hotel had their car broken into and stereo stolen. Park your car close to hotel entrance!!

4 star luxuary for a 2 star price
Rowdy May 25, 2009
We stayed at the Club level in the tower on the sixth floor. I couldn't believe all the small amenities: 2 bottles of water ... in the frig, Orville Redenbacher's popcorn(the wife's favorite), granola bars, a sleep enhancing CD, and of course all the toiletries including air freshener, and mouthwash. It was a great experience at a fantastic Orbitz price!

If you plan to spend most of your time in DC (we took day trips everyday for a week), then I would advise getting a SmartTrip card from the Metro and visit the Metro website trip planner to plan you bus/train trip to and from DC. After the first day, it was really easy to catch the bus right outside the hotel, take it to the train station and hop the train into DC. Trips generally took about 45 minutes but really worth it not having to fight traffic and avoided paying for rent car and parking. Estimated we saved $200.

Excellent stay at Dulles Crowne Plaza
Bev May 15, 2009
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza when we were in the area visiting a relative who was ill. Because we spent most of our time ... with family we didn't have time to take advantage of the the pool and fitness facilities but my husband and I were both very impressed with the cleanliness of the property, the friendly and helpful staff, and the prompt service. This hotel is conveniently located near major freeways, restaurants and shopping.
