Parent of a 2012 JMU GRAD
Okay for a JMU Graduation
This is a very basic, no frill hotel, but not a bad place if you're just looking for one night for a JMU event, like Graduation. The room was clean, but the air conditioner was a little noisy. No bathroom amenities except bar soap, so bring your own shampoo and hair dryer.

comfortable and affordable
I picked this as a less expensive option to the official conference hotel, and I was prepared for a less-than-ideal experience. However, the room was clean, the staff were pleasant, and I had no complaints at all. When I registered online, the site insisted on quoting a room for two people. When I arrived at the hotel, the desk clerk gave me not only the single rate (cheaper) but the senior discount I had neglected to include earlier. She saved me $20 off the great rate I found on line. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Non-Smoking Room Had Been Smoked In
Arrived at 12:15 am for a quick sleep and shower. Found the non-smoking room had been smoked in--there was a lingering smokey smell in the air and on all the linens. Too late at night to drive back to the office (not in the same building) and load my stuff back in the car. Settled for a sub-standard room for my 5 hour sleep. My experience with Motel 6 had been acceptable in the past. But now I probably won't try them again. I didn't need fancy for 5 hours of sleep; but I did want a non-smoked in room!

Great place
There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Everything was clean and accessible. The staff was awesome and check in was quick. I liked the coffee in the morning, it's a pity there is no breakfast and you have to pay for your wifi access, other than that the stay was great. The place is nice and quiet, got a very good rest.

Off the freeway.
This is a clean, no frills, quiet place to stay for a night on the road. There is no clock radio. Coffee in the lobby is it. Can park right in front of your room. We felt safe and that we got our money's worth.

Needed pet friendly accomendations
The Motel 6 was as expected. It was a place to lay your head and it allowed pets. The room was OK and adequate for my stay there. The front desk lady (sorry did not get her name) was fantastic and very friendly. The bed was a little hard and the pillows were flat.... This motel is very bare bones and you will need to bring your own shampoo as everyone mentioned. All in all it was middle of the road. Not the worst and definitely not the best.

Just Your Basics
Nice for 1 night stay in a pinch, considering other hotels jacked up prices and required a 2 night stay for parents weekend at local college. Wireless was very slow, wooden floors in the room were warped due to water damage, furniture and decorum very dated. If you need a room for a night CHEAP---this is the place.

Large, dead bugs scattered about.
My daughter had difficulty sleeping at Motel 6 because of the large, dead bugs scattered about her hotel room floor.

Okay for a place to sleep
The room was very basic; King size bed, table chair, wood floor, TV with basic cable. internet for extra fee. It was very clean, quiet. Towels are a bit thin but no different than other Motel 6. I did not stay in the room for any length of time other than sleeping. Very good access to restaurants, book store and other shopping. Bring your own alarm clock.
