We knew parents weekend was a busy one so with limited choices of hotels available, we booked the Econo Lodge. Great location and reasonably comfortable bed, but it truly was not clean. There were hair balls in corners and dust all around. To me
cleanliness is of the utmost and not that difficult to improve upon. Additionally, when I went to the front desk with the outside chance they had a toothbrush for those who forgot, I was reminded of where I was staying. In a pinch, maybe, but I'll avoid it in the future.
My husband and I arrived around midnight, and there was someone to help us. Our room was larger than we expected and was very clean and modern. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
Location- terrible. Exit-dangerous,hidden from oncoming traffic.
2 out of 3 front desk clerks obviously not trained & clueless.
Internet down constantly which resulted in mistakes with room charges.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Our experience was not good, motel overpriced, room not clean- sheets had stains and a small hole, so did bath mat. The heating and cooling unit was very noisy at night. The shower rarely heated beyond lukewarm. the maids never gave us fresh
towels the second night. Coffee at breakfast was weak and tasteless.
It was overall a poor experience
Check in was fine, went to room and opened the door to be SMACKED in the face with discusting, reaking, cigarette odor. Requested NO Smoking, and called ahead to make sure this would be the case upon arrival. Went to speak to the manager and was
told by him there was no way to change the room. Being Family Weekend at JMU, the whole town was filled up. Was a horrible weekend in smoke filled room. I would NEVER stay here again. My friend stayed there the weekend before with the same results. Wish I had talked to her before I went. ALSO, not enough parking for the motel guests staying there!
Great location and good price for a few nights at JMU homecoming, since all the other hotels charged $200 a night. However, room beds were caved in, wallpaper falling off the walls, and towels look like they haven't been changed in years. We went
to walmart for our own towels. You get what you pay for
Econo Lodge Harrisonburg, VA was worse than the hotel I stayed in during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad in 2008. Beds were terrible, bugs were large and the noise level was deafening. Never again!!
