Days Inn James Madison University

Visiting kids and grandchildren...perfect location, [...]was very helpful, all of the staff were professional.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We went to Shenandoah caverns and many other places around the area. Being right near I-81 made it so easy to trip all over Harrisonburg and Shenandoah Valley. My grandchildren had never been to the mountains. They had a great time.

I stay at this Days Inn 5 times per year for 3 to 6 days visiting family. My room was clean, comfortible and the A/C had a very reasonable noise level! I will continue to stay there at each visit.

Graduation weekend

Perfect location if you are visiting James Madison University or Harrisonburg. A little secret would be you are just a few blocks away from walking trails that connect to the beautiful arboretum at JMU. Overall very clean, but the beds were very lumpy and bumpy,so no guarantee you'll get a good night's sleep. Bathrooms were older and the towels could be softer - but again, kept neat and clean.No exercise facilities, but there is an indoor pool. Breakfast was okay, nothing special - but area was kept neat and clean.

I reserved a non-smoking room, but was plunked in a smoking room. They moved me down the hall, but the entire floor stunk of smoke. If you want a non-smoking experience, don't go here. When I turned on the fan in the non-smoking room, there was the smell again. Couldn't get away from it.

I was there for two days and was happy and im pressed with the servie. It was quiet, had a spa and pool, a free breakfast every morning. It suited me just perfectly for my JMU orientation. I think the only difficulty was the hot walk it was from JMU to Days Inn dragging a suitcase with me all the way. I do not drive nor did I want to get a taxi because it was so close. But other than this, I give Days Inn at JMU 5 stars:) God Bless and thanks!

The room was suppose to be a non-smoking room... Horrible smoke residue. The trashcan in hallway was full of leakage from ceilimg and has mold and mildew smell. The linens were not clean smelling. The bathroom had mildew in tub, and was not cleaned properly. The washcloth was so thin, I could have read the paper thru it. I will never stay there again.

Hotel is tired and needs some TLC. But [some of] the staff were helpful and the rooms were warm, clean and quiet. The tobacco smell wasn't great but it didn't permeate the bedroom. Breakfast was fine though all disposable plates, forks, spoons, cups etc LOL

Needed to stay close to JMU for 2 days - so location was great. Room and especially the bath need to be renovated - clean, but OLD and falling apart! Front Desk staff were not rude, but certainly not friendly. Only one ice machine/vending machine (which was nearly empty) for a 4 floor facility. Breakfast was awful - started at 6:30 and at 7 it still wasn't set up with food. Coffee was luke warm. Only one accessable outlet and that had a 6 prong adapted added to it. Had to put the coffee maker on the floor to reach the plug - or in the bathroom. Mini Fridge had a frosted over freezer and no shelf space to put things on. Coffee maker was dirty. Stayed two nights and the staff "forgot" to service my room. Elevator had trash on the floor the entire time I was there - no one ever bothered to check it, or clean it...sad. Sounds horrible, but it wasn't. It just wasn't good. All in all it's the small things that make one feel good about a place and too many small things were bad
