Awesome location & amenities

We stayed at this location to attend the PBR at Hampton Coliseum. Being able to walk so close made us not have to rush from the event and fight traffic. The FREE buffet breakfast was out of this world. The room price was very affordable. The motel was clean and staff was very friendly. I have stayed all over the country and this one ranks at the TOP.

Embassy Suites Hotel and Spa on Coliseum drive in Hampton, Virginia, is an absolutely great hotel!!! We have stayed at this hotel several times. We came down again from Northern Virginia for our annual Rugby Tournament and once again the hotel was great.

Nothing to worry about

This is an OUTSTANDING facility, the parking is great. The personalized service is top notch. When you stay here you know that everything is taken care of, the small personal touches are well appreciated. I felt completely safe and like a true guest, I almost didnt want to leave.

Still needs work

Room was large and well appointed. However, this designated non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes. This condition was obviously not checked by the staff. I reported it on checkout.

Disappointed

I have stayed at many Embassy Suites in the past and found this one to be a huge disappointment. Starting with check-in when the front desk clerk checked me in without speaking a word to me, most likely since she was talking on the phone the entire time. Usually you get a welcome or at a minimum directions to your room or something. When I went back to the front desk the next day to correct an error they made the front desk staff was very friendly and polite so may have just been the individual. Second the hotel was VERY loud. I hear people yelling till about 11pm throughout the hotel on the first night. The other two nights were much quieter. The restaurant was overpriced and the food below par. The restaurant staff was friendly though. Fitness facility was very nice. The head phone jack on the bike was broke but all other equipment was fine. My room was not cleaned the first day, not sure why but it wasn't I got back to my room at about 6pm and nothing had been done, i.e. bed was not made, towels not replaced, ect. Second day room was cleaned but the garbage was not emptied. Six of the shower curtain rings were broke and one light was burnt out. Lighting was poor throughout the room. The curtains were sewn open and could not be shut which made it bright in the morning.

Beautiful but Ghetto

This is a beautiful hotel with spacious modern rooms and amenities. But the problem is that there is a huge lack of security. No less than 4 large in-room parties were taking place on my floor while the family was trying to sleep. There were dozens of people in the rooms, exceeding safety limits, drinking, smoking drugs and blaring rap music. It took threatening the manager with calling the police for the hotel management to do anything about the noise. Skip this hotel when visiting Hampton. Stay at the Crown Plaza downtown instead.
