Crowne Plaza HAMPTON-MARINA

I very much enjoyed my stay. Great location next to Hampton University's campus. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here when I return.

Lady at service desk called my status base, staff went out of way to make me feel small. Ask if I could get a drink cause it was offered in last trip because I was a priority member. Christmas Day was no cleaning service, had do not disturbed sign out until 12:00 left the hotel returned back at 9 pm no service, dirty towels and coffee neglected. I called for service only 2 sets were sent up. No coffee for next morning , it seems coffee was offered for some quest at front of hotel it was never offered to us.On December 26 room half way cleaned dirty cups left all over the room, no coffee. Rain stormed came in the area the carpet was wet near the window. I have stayed at the hotel before and service continue to decline, was scouting out hotels in area for graduation in future have a lot of family coming in town and back and forth in and out of town all the time, I would not recommend this hotel to dogs. Please stay else where, think staff need training in what Crowne plaza is known for,a place to meet and outstanding service:-( I am writing this because I expressed my concerns the last time I stayed here when the toilets were not cleaned and had rim inside had to clean own toilet upon checking in. When I do express concerns staff make me feel like a bother, and no changes , the manager on duty was Amy. I would whether stay at YMCA or dog shelter.

This was my second stay at the Crowne. It is within walking distance to Hampton's campus. The room and staff were great. I have already booked my third stay.

this hotel is located on the marina, next to the Museum. It is within easy daytrip distance of Jamestown, Yorktown & Williamsburg. The room was fine, it was clean & and had a lovely view of the marina. During the two days we were there we found some things lacking. The vending machines were broken & the front desk staff knew they were broken, but did not bother to put up an out of order sign. When I approached the staff to report the situation the response was " oh yeah, don't use those, just come downstairs & get one from our store here". Also , there was consistantly a 7-10 minute wait for an elevator. I would have taken the stairs even though it was 6 flights) but there was no stair access to/from the main floor. Be aware that housekeeping showed up around 8:30 am to clean our room.

1) put us in a room for handicapped...tall people so we couldn't see in the mirrors, etc. 2) asked for double bed but got a single...claimed they did not have anything else 3) asked for toilet paper all day but was not delivered until next day 4) bathrooms are laid out very akwardly 5) most outlets in room did not work....lights wouldn't come on 6) couldn't close sheers all the way and no other curtain so privacy couldn't be obtained at night 7) restaurant was not open 8) front desk staff not accommodating and didn't seem to know much about the area

Hotel was clean and friendly. The rate for return was acceptable. Didn't have any great feature. Very nice but average.

This hotel is the perfect location for visiting Hampton University. Your young person can walk to and from the campus. Plus the water few is relaxing.

Great location for parents of Hampton University students!
