Up-to-date and clean, good for the price
This hotel is up-to-date and clean, a good value for the price. The neighborhood leaves something to be desired, but there are good restaurants and stores a few minutes' drive north on Brook Rd. It's an easy hop onto I-95 from the hotel to go south into downtown Richmond or head north toward DC. The only disappointment was the complimentary breakfast, which was highly carb-focused on the Wednesday and Thursday morning I was there, not offering protein items like eggs and sausage as well until the weekend crowd started arriving on Friday morning, my last morning there.

Very nice
Was a good expierence. We asked to be moved because of some red spill on bathroom floor that was rather gross and should have been cleaned prior to our stay. the next morning they moved us and was very gracious about it.

On the Road Again
Disappointed
I was disappointed to find that the hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. Everything else was okay, but the smell of stale smoke would keep me from going back. Sorry can't recommend this one.

Definately not a 3 star motel!
This is definately not a 3-star facility. The location is poor in a poorer neighborhood, The hall carpet needs to be cleaned but the room was clean. The breakfast was OK.

Decent stay for the money
This was a convenient place to stay on our way to a wedding in Richmond. Very nice staff. Biggest complaint was that room had a lingering smoke odor, and was supposed to be non-smoking.

ok to come back again
Staying overnite for VCU orientation. Chk in around 7pm and was fast, friendly staff, room clean and no smell - non smoking, didn't have any alergic reaction to dust, great! Didn't have chance to chk out other amenities but coffee maker, iron, hair dryer are ok. No internet? picking up some internet signal but the connection constantly drop. The Beds are clean, little bit firm for my wife but ok with me. I have been to most mid range to higer hotel, this is the first hotel that have ventilation fan in the bathroom = A+. The fan was noise but still an A+. The stairs to the swimming pool were not clean - seem like has not been clean for couple days. Chk out was fast, we have to leave early around 6:15 AM. Breakfast was ready when we come down to the lobby: Eggs, sausage, hotcakes, wafles, bagel, coffee. Breakfast was ok, just a bit supprised when two ground workers join in for breakfast, I can tell by their outfit. Look like they were working very hard yesterday ... does not look good for hotel's business at all. I still give over all 4 stars for pleasant staying: the room, beds, bathroom, were neat and clean. No noises from outside or from rooms next to us. 3 stars for staffs because groundworkers joined in for breakfast
