Aloft Richmond West

This hotel is amazing! The amenities are first class and the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. The location is perfect - close to shopping, dining and everything you could want. The staff was very helpful in suggesting places to go and things to do. I will absolutely be staying here again.

My son and I were visiting family and stayed at ALoft. The reception staff was nice and helpful. The room and bath were quite comfortable and clean; wonderful 2 nights of sleep. When you don't need the higher end hotel frills, this hotel is perfect. The location is wonderful; conventient to loads of shopping, restaurants and activities. Recommend.

My job requires me to travel 100% of the time so I am constantly in hotels. I have seen bad hotels and I have found amazing gems. This is a great hotel, I dont understand why people are knocking it. The staff was INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful. My room was SPOTLESS both nights. The bed was unbelievably comfortable and the shower was awesome. I loved the layout. Keep in mind, the rooms are meant to be studio/loft-esque so they can appear small but everything is super effective. I loved the closet space where I could pull a curtian back and see what I was going to wear. I will abosolutely stay here again and again.The location is also wonderufl, you can walk to several places to eat, shop and hang out. There is also a whole foods right down the street, AAAMMAAZZZIINNGGGG!!!

Carpets could have been vacuumed in the hallways and the settee in the room needed to be cleaned as there was dirt all over it. Air conditioning did not get cool, room was warm. Everything else was great!

I was heading to Richmond and used a well known travel website to find a hotel. I chose 3 stars or higher and then sorted by price. The Aloft was the second cheapest and had the second best ratings. I was impressed by the pics and other reviews. The good: The Parking garage is huge and it was free. The lobby is very trendy and cool. All open and bright. Kind of eclectic style. The rooms were great. Spacious, modern, comfortable. Silent air conditioning is a wonderful thing. LCD TV was a nice touch but most programs were in SD and not HD so it didn't look that great. Good choices for snacks and other needed items, right off the lobby. Small bar also right off the lobby. The location is one of the best features of the hotel. Its in an area with a Whole Foods about 30 second walk away, an irish bar connected to the hotel building, restaurants all over the place, and Walmart and Kohls very nearby in case you forget something. The "Wish it were better": No exhaust fans in the bathrooms so both the shower and toilet overwhelmed the bathroom (which only has a sliding pocket door) and the space outside it. There are no drawers for clothing. Just hanging areas and small cubbys. No info in the room on where the pool was. Had to call down to ask. Should be on a card in the room or on the hotel TV channel. Check out is noon but the maid walked in at 9. The gap under the room door is a bit large so lots of noise from the hallways could be heard in the room. I would and will stay there again though. Regardless of these items above.

HAD AN ENJOYABLE TIME, GREAT LOCATIONS, WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

A clever modern twist on hotels, the A Loft was a B+ good stop in West End Richmond/Short Pump/Glen Allen on Hwy. 250/ W. Broad Street. Big Mall 2 stoplights west. Walk 100 yds. to Whole Foods for food & dining = nice! Restaurants abound. Drug stores hardest to locate. Very quiet community location. Parking garage. Non-smoking. No valet. Not real kid friendly. The rooms and especially long hallways have far too many hard surfaces = noisy w/ every passing hotel guest. 2nd level hotel lobby = odd in a non- urban setting but has nice bar and snacks kitchen. Super nice staff, clean room. No wireless : ( was a disconnect with so modern a look and psyche. But with all warts, still a big step up for that part of town - take it from a transplanted native back over many yrs. to see Richmond family. Connection to hwy. is Nice as I-64 has ingress/ egress within 1/4 mile of this development with Whole Foods & A Loft. There is condo construction adjacent but not a hindrance to traffic. As this sits in a new mixed use site of at least 100 acres and borrows heavily on themes of Richmond's historic row houses, cobblestone/brick streets, promenade boulevards with a few cafes and water with gazebo, it's a nice spot to unwind in far West Richmond. Enjoy!

Reliable facility with very accommodating staff.

We were attending the NASCAR race at RIR but loved the neighborhood where the hotel is located. Lots of restaurants, shops, etc within walking distance. Location was great - not far from anything. This experience was one of the best stays ever.
