Aloft Richmond West

A clever modern twist on hotels, the A Loft was a B+ good stop in West End Richmond/Short Pump/Glen Allen on Hwy. 250/ W. Broad Street. Big Mall 2 stoplights west. Walk 100 yds. to Whole Foods for food & dining = nice! Restaurants abound. Drug stores hardest to locate. Very quiet community location. Parking garage. Non-smoking. No valet. Not real kid friendly. The rooms and especially long hallways have far too many hard surfaces = noisy w/ every passing hotel guest. 2nd level hotel lobby = odd in a non- urban setting but has nice bar and snacks kitchen. Super nice staff, clean room. No wireless : ( was a disconnect with so modern a look and psyche. But with all warts, still a big step up for that part of town - take it from a transplanted native back over many yrs. to see Richmond family. Connection to hwy. is Nice as I-64 has ingress/ egress within 1/4 mile of this development with Whole Foods & A Loft. There is condo construction adjacent but not a hindrance to traffic. As this sits in a new mixed use site of at least 100 acres and borrows heavily on themes of Richmond's historic row houses, cobblestone/brick streets, promenade boulevards with a few cafes and water with gazebo, it's a nice spot to unwind in far West Richmond. Enjoy!

Reliable facility with very accommodating staff.

We were attending the NASCAR race at RIR but loved the neighborhood where the hotel is located. Lots of restaurants, shops, etc within walking distance. Location was great - not far from anything. This experience was one of the best stays ever.

This hotel was in the perfect location for what we wanted. It's close to great restaurants, shopping, movies - anything you want. The super modern decor was a new experience. Comfy bed. Big fluffy towels. Friendly staff. What more could you ask for in an overnight getaway?!

I couldn't possibly say enough good things about this place! From the many innovative and eco-friendly design elements(I would describe Aloft as being Euro-Hipster Chic)to the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the niceness of the staff... I loved all the little details - Bliss body products, a 42" flat screen tv, an MP3 dock and charging center, low energy light bulbs and fridge... They've thought of it all. Surprised by the lack of a blow dryer in the room, I swiftly decided that they'd probably concurred that most savvy travelers bring their own. Everything that's there is intentional, practical, and aesthetically pleasing/fulfilling. The lobby has free access to up-to-date computers and again, they've thought of everything a modern traveler could need - the anti-social visitors like me can check in electronically at a kiosk and the social people can meet other social people at the nightly "mixer"! Suffice to say, I was pleased and wish I could have stayed longer. I'll be going back, and recommending to all my friends and family.

The hotel was fine. However, the rooms were too small with limited closet space. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. Food accomodations were limited. Also, there was no ice or soda machines available on the floors.

It was clean, the staff was friendly and ready to help, good location near interstate and near lots of restaurants. However, it was so new their address didn't show up on our GPA so we had to look for it for some time...frustrating. Good rate and clean room, fantastic shower!

Really had a wonderful time. Hard to locate, please pay attention to the fact that you need to use the W. Broad addy. Would be helpful if they put more specific directions (Turn in at Whole Foods, pass whole foods, make second r, etc. because the sign for the hotel faces completely away from anything visible from the road OR the entrance to the shopping center. You can see that aloft is on the marquee for the shopping center but have no concept in the sprawl of where it is. (I kind of didn't mind that once we found it). Otherwise, an absolutely wonderful experience. We have had multiple really negative experiences with even top hotels recently so it was so refreshing. A really fun atmosphere. New, nice rooms, well appointed, very nice smelling (lovely unisex smell, not too flowery and girly or manly and minty) body wash and shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower. GREAT [...] price. WILL return!!!
