Wingate by Wyndham Fredericksburg

The hotel itself was great. Easy check in, spacious room, very clean and the complimetary buffet breakfast was okay (nothing to write home about). The only complaint we had were the pillows on the bed. They were hard and had no give to them at all, which made for a night of tossing and turning and not much sleep. Also, there is alot of construction on I-95, the main highway you use to get to the hotel, which made it very difficult to get to the hotel. Overall, our stay, which was only one night, was a good one.

I booked for a room with two double beds. Just one double bed in the room....my son, a teenager who is rather tall and I am rather large just would not fit. Staff basically could not give a pooh. Ignored request for another room and gave me a pull out bed that would not even fit in the room. Very unpleasant stay to say the least. [...]

I checked in and the woman at the front desk was not very friendly. Okay, maybe she was having a bad day. I went to my room. It was small. The walls are thin; I could sometimes hear the TV in the room next door. When I turned down the covers, there was a pubic hair stuck in the sheet. It seemed like it had been washed, and the hair was stuck through the threads. I went to call the front desk to ask for new sheets. The phone did not work in my room. I went downstairs and waited until no one was around to speak to the gentleman at the desk, who was very nice. He moved us into another room with clean sheets and a working phone... and a broken lamp, and a hole in the wall. He never notified housekeeping that we were occupying the new room and it did not get cleaned the next day. I had family staying on the same floor and we ate all of our meals in my room. Because they never emptied my trash, it was overflowing. I called down at about 5:00 and let them know that our room had not been cleaned and we did not have any clean towels. I asked for someone to come take out the trash. The man at the desk said that there was no one working at the hotel but him, and he could not come. I asked what he suggested I do with my trash and he put me on hold, indefinitely. After four minutes, I hung up and called again. He did not answer. We did not receive any towels and were not able to shower the next morning. Overall, the experience was very poor. The hotel is not very old, but is having maintenance issues which they do not seem eager to correct. The breakfast was just below average for a hotel in this price-range. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were so huge that I could not sleep on them. I have not stayed at a Wingate before, and do not plan on doing so again.

The rooms were not real quiet but everything else was great. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The staff was nice. You could hear the room next door a little but overall, that was ok. The worse was when the dumpsters were emptied at 4 a.m. Very loud.

Arrived late with no hassle. Warm cookies at the desk. Spotless room, great 37" LCD TV and Channel choices including in room movies etc. Microwave/fridge desk, comfy chair for $69. Continental Breakfast for late risers was still full and fresh.

We arrived after 10 pm and had booked a single king room ,non smoking. There were none left, they upgraded us to a suite instead. The room was great and the staff was also the same. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone I know

The rooms very clean and modern. The pool and hot tub were excellent. Breakfast for delicious, and the staff was very friendly.

This was one of the BEST hotels we ever stayed in. Very customer service helpful and friendly. The room was spectacular. The bed was very comfortable, had a big screen TV and the shower had a pulsating shower head that felt wonderful. We were extremely pleased with the hot breakfast, made our own waffles! The coffee was excellent.

We booked two rooms and one of the showers in one of the rooms only had cold water. So we had to share the shower and it wasn't fixed and hotel was booked so we couldn't get a different room. We were in the area for our son's graduation from TBS/Marines. Many of the hotels were completely booked in the area.
