Homestead Studio Suites - Washington, DC - Fairfax - Fair Oaks

It was a nice hotel.. clean and friendly........ ........

all was good here. only problem was thin walls you really can hear everything from other people around you.

Clean, comfortable bed. Adequate extended stay type hotel for price. Only distinguishing feature was Indian satellite channel available on TV.

Through [...], I could book in the area for half what they charge and get more. I proved it by moving into a hotel that ran for half their rate the last day of my stay in the area. Homestead essentially provided nothing, not even shampoo. You get a medium sized refrigerator but not ice trays. Had to hike to the office for it. They only have once weekly maid service. The room I paid less for provided all the above plus two free bottled waters and had a decent room in good condition, not like the ripped linoleum floors in the Homestead. And they provide daily maid and linen service. Sorry folks. Didn't do the trick for me.

This was a wonderful experience. Everything we needed was available and we look forward to using all of the features the next time.

I travel often so I know a good hotel when I see one. This was not!!!!!!!!!!. The room smelled like smoke although it was listed as a non-smoking unit. There were men hanging outside of my room door. People walking all night very noisy and showed no respect for anyone including themselves. The room needed updating. The bathroom was NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!. Also it was located in the kitchen (very inappropriate). As for location, you had to go two blocks over make a U-turn and come back down in order to get into the parking lot. Which by the way was awkward and had small parking spaces. The stay was so bad that I literally left at 5am as soon as there was someone in the office. This is a good place for anyone who likes bugs and thugs.

Great, easy to find

We were in town for my Mother's funeral. My sister's family also booked a room. We arrived and checked in and then drove to funeral home so we did not actually check the rooms out until later that evening. Immediately we all felt like we would be sick. This was suppose to be a non-smoking room but clearly you could smell smoke and other things (!!???) I pulled back the coverlet and the blanket and sheet had stains on it....the carpet clearly also reeked. This is not the place to stay if you intend to actually sleep or spend any time at all in the room. We paid $99 per night and moved to the Hyatt for just a bit more. The front desk person tried to help but clearly all the Homestead rooms were the same...we were refunded our money (so that is the best thing I can say about our experience). Needless to say we didn't need to go through this on the eve of my mother's funeral!

Spent two nights at Homestead Studio Suites.On Saturday evening, the receptionist, [...] was most friendly and helpful. On my second night's stay, Nash was the gracious representative at check-in. The room on Sunday night lacked easy chair and ottoman. which I missed. Good location for inducing sound sleep.
