Great value
The train behind the hotel was a little noisy but after the first time it went by I hardly heard it. This site says there is a shuttle from hotel to park. This shuttle has not been in use in over 2 years. However we walked and it was not terrible as the park is directly across the street. Great breakfast! Accompanied my family wonderfully. Room had two queen beds and it still had room for my infant sons pack and play.

Irritated to the max
3 day business trip
The place is clean and new. The beds very comfortable. I heard no trains though tracks are nearby. No towels first night but they were brought when we requested. The BIG irritation is that they downloaded software onto my computer that is STILL there to "no fault" the hotel if I use my network for any bad things. The DARNED thing keeps popping up about 4-6 times a day and I have cleared my connection and tried to find the software to clear it out but it isn't listed in my program list. This will not do! I will avoid ALL Days Iinn and Wyndham properties because of this abuse! How do I clear this virus?

Not impressed
For being a new motel, it was not very well-kept: stained bathtub, wobbly light on the nightstand, strange smell in the room and on the towels, which were not very white. Shampoo and moisturizer bottles in the bathroom were already opened and used.

It was nice to be able to have a hotel near the amusement park with a shuttle service. The staff was really nice about everything we asked and what not. My boyfriend and I had a pleasant time at the hotel for it being our first vacation together :)

"My Cousin Vinny"
We were going to Kings Dominion and this place is right across the street. There is a shuttle to the park if you choose, we didn't, and the place is brand new and very clean. However, if you seen the scene in "My Cousin Vinny" where the train comes right past the hotel in the middle of the night, this is that place, figuratively. There is a train track right behind the building, literally. Trains come through up until 2:00 am. You will not sleep through them I promise you. Then starting at 8:00 am we heard what sounded like a doorbell ringing outside our room. We were right across from the laundry room, I think on purpose (see later), and the bell I think was from the washers and dryers. You will not sleep through these bells if your in room 114. The pool is tiny and is in the driveway. There is nothing to eat anywhere near this place other than Burger King or Denny's and you'll have to get on the highway to Ashland if you want different. If you go to Kings Dominion realize they close at 10:00 p.m., unfortunately so does nearly every restaurant in the area other than Denny's. The manager also charged us $10.00 above the Orbitz price because we had a 15 year old, which they consider an adult. They also seemed miffed at the rate we got, hence room 114. It later became obvious that this is a owner/family managed hotel. Hindsight is 20-20 so I'll stay in Ashland next time.

Take 95 to Ashland prior to 10:00 p.m. if you want to eat anything other than Burger King or Denny's.

Totally Disgusted
You really don't want to stay here!!!!!!
There is a train track behind the hotel that trains come through three times a night that shake the entire hotel when they pass through. We left to go out for the day at 9:00 a.m and came back at 10:00 p.m. and the rooms had not been clean. One of the children went to turn on a lamp and the lamp shade fell off and the lamp tilted over the the hot bulb hit the child's forearm and she suffered a second degree burn. The hotel staff did NOTHING about this when told about it. We have stayed in Days Inn across the U.S. and have never been treated like this. Would not recommend this one to anyone. When asked about a refund, they just looked at us like we were crazy. We plan to file a formal complaint with the Corportate Days Inn.

The good, the bad,and the real noisy Hote
The Hotel was built behind a very busy train track, the pool was very small and dirty. No yard, grass was dead full of rocks and dirt. The entrance was dirty with trash overflowing. The breakfast nook was extremly small and dirty. The walls were so thin one can hear the noises from the other rooms, and when one would close their door it would shake the other room.

Decent Place for the price
My friend and I picked this hotel for two reasons. The first was the price and the second; it was close to the Richmond International Speedway. The quality of the rooms were clean and kept. If you are lookin for something fancy, this is not the way to go. Another perk about this hotel is it is close to Kings Dominion *theme park*, and when I say close I mean close. Kings Dominion was right across the street. They even had a free shuttle to take you to and from the park. The only bad thing about this hotel was the fact that a train literally runs behind the hotel. I'm not sure how often it ran during the day but at night it ran about twice. Oddly enough, the train was surprisingly quiet. As for the pool, it wasn't anything spectacular, and on the small side. Other then the train thing it was a decent place for the price and the next race I attend in Richmond, I'm def. staying here again.
