Better be desparate

Went to see a college athletic event in Danville and although we had stayed at another InnKeeper there were other events in town and very few rooms were available. InnKeeper is not fancy or big on amenities but we only needed a room for the night. We decided to stay at this one since it was relatively close to the school and we reserved a non-smoking room. Check-in was simple and fast. When we went to the room the door was wide open but no one was around. After closing the door there was an obvious smell of Fabreze or some kind of odor control. We had to go to dinner shortly afterwards and returned later that night. The room still smelled unnatural to say the least. After a fitful night of unrest on the cheap, overly firm mattress, we awoke to the now strong smell of cigarette smoke. The odor control spray had dissipated and it was obvious someone had smoked in the room. I told the manager at checkout and his apology consisted of "someone must have smoked in the room" along with a $5 reduction in the room rate. He added this was news to them and the motel would have to treat the room. In my opinion he knew the room was NOT a non-smoking room and the door was left open to help air it out prior to our arrival. Needless to say this was our last stay at any InnKeeper.

one night stay for travel

When we checked in, the hotel staff was very plesant and helpful, the room was very clean and smelled fresh. The bed was a bit too firm but for our personal liking but ok. While we were in Danville the staff pointed out some nice eateries and shopping locations. We did take the staffs suggestions and we were not at all disapointed.

Good Business Trip

Room was clean, had refridgerator and Microwave. Motel was one of the older motels in town, but it was convenient to fat food and other restaurants. Stay was satisfactory. I would stay there again if I need to go back to Danville.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Several decent restaurants are just a short drive from the motel. There are two good restaurants in walking distence, but you would probably get ran over trying to cross Business 29.

good price and location

We were happily greeted by the staff, given our keys and shown our room. the room was clean and quiet, It's location is just up the road from the tank museum, that is why we were there. All along the way there are places to eat and shop. We will be returning and i will be staying here on my return trip next year.

nice curtious staff

When I arrived, I was not in the desk computer. I could see that they were determined to satisfy me, and with that observation made the process easy. I am one that beleives customer service overpower the many obstacles in our daily lives. The registration was completed properly and the enthusiasm shown in the morning made my stay worthwile. When I have a visit in the Danville area again, This will be my choice of stay. Walter

they cancelled my reservation ...

i walked in to check in after a long day and no sleep for 48 hours and was told my reservation had been cancelled and they had just given my room away a few minutes ago. my credit card had gotten declined, and they said they couldn't call me because i had booked on line. i was not happy, luckily a friend with me had internet capabilities on his phone ... and we found a hotel 1/2 hour away for twice the price ... so not very happy that they didn't call me to see if i was coming, especially since i had called the day prior to confirm my reservation ... so i really can't review anything as i was not able to stay here ... = (

BEWARE!!!

First off, I have stayed at many hotels and motels up and down the eastern coast over the years, and I tend not to be a very critical person normally. This place was very noisy(people in parking lot all night long), VERY overpriced for the quality and service. On our second night stay, my girlfriend requested that some form of security officer or something be placed in the parking lot because we actually worried about our safety, no kidding. They lost my reservations, gave us a room two sizes smaller than I asked for and charged me 100 bucks a night while the courtyard marriot 2 miles away charged the very same rate. I advise anyone thinking of staying here just pitch a tent you will be much safer.
