Super 8 Christiansburg

Old and run down as you'd expect out in a rural area. You also get what you pay for.

Our room was nice, pillows comfy, a recliner, and nice toiletries. Breakfast was so-so. My only complaint was that we were next to a smoking room and if we turned the bathroom fan on, the room smelled like smoke.

Very easy to find, well lite up. Didn't use the amenities except the coffee when I woke up. The place was older but clean and comfortable, large TV with alot of stations, even had a refrigerator in the room.

The room was a very good deal for the money that we paid. Updated bathrooms and very clean.

This Super 8 hotel is easy to find from I-81, and less than 10 miles (on hwy 460) from Virginia Tech. We did get confused getting to the location, only because we stopped in at Tech before going to the hotel, so we weren't approaching the hotel the way I had expected - we ended up at another Super 8 nearby, but they must be prepared for that since the desk clerk was able to hand me printed directions to the correct Super 8. The staff was extremely helpful, and the room was sufficiently clean. The only issue in the room was one of the washclothes had either a smudge or worn-out spot on it, but everything else was good in the room. We thought only smoking rooms would be available on a busy weekend (we made last-minute reservations), but they were able to give us a non-smoking, and it was very fresh, with a great air-conditioning system. The other issue we had was that the internet was out the first day, so we had to go up the road to get wifi (the desk clerk suggested we sit in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn across the street - really?). We were able to get internet service at the Ruby Tuesday, where we had a fantastic dinner (we went there the next night, too). The internet was back on at the hotel the next day, and I have to say that the staff apologized several times for the delay. There are several eateries nearby, such as the Ruby Tuesday mentioned above, a Cracker Barrel, and a Waffle House. The Super 8 complimentary breakfast was OK, with english muffins, sweet rolls, cereal, coffee, and juice.

A fine hotel for a nights stop over. Could use more towels.

The hotel was nice with adequate parking. The bathroom was clean and the room was up to par. My only problem was with the beds, I have a bad back at the rock hard beds did not help. If you need a bit of padding when you sleep, don't expect it here. We did not try the breakfast so i will not comment on that. It was an easy check in, they acomodated our late checkin, and check out and the staff was nice and helpfull.

The hotel needs to invest in upkeep. The blankets and comforters were dirty with cigarette burn holes. The sheets were threadbare with burn holes. Pillows were worn and dirty. My mattress had a nasty dried red stain (was this a crime scene?). Half empty bottle of shampoo from previous guests was in the shower. I won't go back.

Did not have amenities as advertised. Did not have a Restaurant and Lounge on property.

It is too bad, I choose comfortable room then they alloted room with very bad smell. When i requested so many times and with big argument, then they alloted with another room, it do not have freeze or over. Orbitz customer service also very very poor. I do not recommend both this hotel and Orbitz.
