I would absolutely stay at the Aloft again. Place was simple, clean and nice. I didn't use the pool because I was too tired, but I will next time. The bar was hip and everyone was very nice.

Had a great time, the hotel experience was nice. The staff was friendly also.

It was nice granted we got there early n couldn't check in but the hotel was awesome n location even better. The only thing they need is better air conditioner in the room and a Jacuzzi cause the pool is small. Overall I enjoyed the experience.

My girlfriend and I choose the hotel because of the modern look and the low price. The hotel looks great with newer facilities and updated style. However, they must of spent all their money on decorating the place because the hotel lacked a lot of comfort and service. First, be aware, the hotel is pet friendly. We had the pleasure of hearing a dog bark every couple of hours while we tried to sleep, as the owner refused to take it out or quiet it down. Second, as soon as we walked in, we were failed to be greeted by anyone. Some of the staff were playing pool on the pool table in the lobby. It wasn't until we got someone when I figured out how to self check-in. The place was also empty, which couldn't be a good sign. The pool is one of the smallest pools I've seen in a hotel. It also smelled so strongly of chemicals that I don't know how anyone could actually swim in it. The gym looked nice but we passed after we saw the pool. The rooms are small and tight. They have nice, large LCD TV's but I could barely get anything to come in clear. The bathroom has a large glass shower, no tub. Not a big deal. It also is one of the those hotel bathrooms with the sliding doors, like a divider instead of having an actual separate bathroom. I don't really care for these. But again, tight and barely room to move. They do have dispensers of shampoo and body wash which was nice. To top it all off, the beds - horrible. Unless you like sleeping on what felt like a piece of wood, it was probably the worst hotel mattress I've ever slept on. With the dog barking, trying to sleep was near impossible. I could look past everything else but you go to a hotel to rest/sleep. If you can't do that, what's the point in paying for it? I woke up with some major back pain because of these beds. If you're low on money, I guess you'd want to stay here. It's not in a bad location either. However, I won't ever be back or staying in another aloft.

My husband and I lived in the Virginia Beach area for some time but since moved to Northern Virginia. Having lived in the area we knew to stay away from the ocean front on a holiday weekend, the cost of hotels triple in the summer months. Aloft's price was about $10 more than a just ok hotel down the street. Aloft is tucked away from the busy Greenbrier Parkway plenty of restaurant near by and mall across the street if you're there to shop. When we first checked into the hotel we noticed how clean, bright and modern the hotel is. The employees working the desk when we check in and out couldn't be more friendly. Our room was clean, bright and cheery as well. Aloft will be the hotel we stay at from now on when we come down to visit family and friends.

I always check the sheets when I check into a hotel room, so I checked the sheets upon entering my room. Guess what, they had hair strands all over them, I call downstairs no problem she says, gets me a new room, I check my sheets in the new room.. Again sheets look questionable, un-washed? and there's over 9 hair strands of different sizes in the sheets. I once again inform them, at this point I told them I'd like a fresh pair of sheets delivered to the room, no problem she says. I explain I'm not trying to get anything for free I just want clean sheets. About 15 minutes go by when I hear something I can only equate to a police knock on the door. An extremely angry looking female employ walks in with the other employee who was helping me before, after asking me what the problem was and me going to show them the hair in the bedsheets she stops me before I can and starts saying well do you want another set of sheets. YES I'D LIKE A SET OF CLEAN SHEETS PLEASE. When she puts these sheets on I notice one big difference, these had fold lines on them and looked.. CLEAN. I guess 3rd times the charm at aLoft.

The hotel is very modern and trendy and the lobby is setup to encourage lounging (Ex. An upscale nightclub or bar). The king sized pillow-top bed was excellent and my wife and I slept well. The only 2 negatives that my wife and I picked up on was that you didn't have the ability to make a cup of coffee until morning and the prices for some of the prepackaged foods located in their self-serve eatery were expensive (Ex. Otis Spunkmeyer muffin was $2.00).

I arrived early. And [...] at the front desk put me up in a room as soon as I arrived. she's very friendly (cute too) Thanks for everything!!!

Our first impression was wowed with the modern decore. This hotel is designed for a young and hip clientel. The only thing that really disapointed us was that there was no microwave in the room for convenience and not enough soft pillows.

i enjoyed my two day stay at the aloft. the room was nice and clean and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and I plan on staying there in the future.
