Quality Inn quality?

We were not expecting high end, but for $129/night we were expecting a bit more. The beds were very comfortable, the towels were plentiful and clean. The TV needs an update and the bathroom could have been cleaner...the 3D stains on the wall were off-putting. I would have been happier to have spent $75 for this visit.

Mediocre stay in Charlottesville

Although the front desk staff was wonderful, the room was just mediocre at best. I indicated on my registration with Orbitz that I wanted non-smoking, then when I got to the hotel, I found out there were only "smoking" rooms available. I took it because I had to, and the stench in the room was disgusting. The room was clean though.

too hot and stuffy

They had turned on the heat, then it got warm and they couldn't cool the rooms in our building. There were no windows to open. It was a sweat box. We were actually relocated to a Sister Hotel - Ours was supposed to be the Quality Inn, we stayed at the Days Inn

Fine for the price

We got a cheap rate for this hotel, and expected a cheap experience. For a short stay, this was just fine. Perfectly clean, facilities were not five star, but fine for a few nights. It was pretty noisy, I would bring ear plugs next time. Continental breakfast was impressive for the price we paid.

A horror story

There was a coffe maker in the room. My husband decided to make some. We had to wash the dust of of it. We followed the instructions on the coffee packet. When we poured the water in the maker, it ran out (not from the spout, but from somewhere else) all over the place. Luckily it was sitting in a tray. We called the front desk and asked if they had coffee in the lobby. We briefly explained about the coffee maker being broke. Instead of saying "I am so sorry for your inconvience", he just said yes we have coffee here in the lobby 24 hours a day. It was about 20 degrees out. We walked to the lobby and carried the maker with us. He quickly grabbed it from us and said "I will give it to management". He then insisted I take the tray back to the room with me. I said that I did not need it, due to the fact I had nothing to put on it. I sat it on the counter. He picked it up and handed to me. He insisted I take it to the room. I was furious. The telephone in the room was absolutly filthy. I have pictures that show the dirt. When you sat on the toilet, you were looking at a wall that had large brown stains on it. (I also have pictures of that). If the stains wouldn't wash off they should have painted them. If I had not been 4 1/2 hrs from home and scheduled for surgery at UVA the next morning, I would not have stayed. We heard hooping and hollering, banging and loud tv's till late in the night. I am not a very picky person and normally don't complain a lot, but I would not send my dog to that hotel.

A dump, would be a complient

A dump, squicky beds, mildew in bathroom, dead roaches in bathroom. Mexicans hanging around outside the room in the parking lot. Garbage spilled all over the parking lot. Perfect for fratboys, not for adults with children.

Crummy Hotel

Not clear what my credit card was charged. Orbitz said the charge "averaged" $89.99, but I think I was charged less. Hotel does have pool access, but can't advertise that it does. Didn't know this, so I didn't bring my bathing suit. Non Smoking rooms are on least attractive side of the building. Tons of cigarette butts on public walkways; obviously the motel does not keep walkways swept. Towel rack in the bathroom was broken when we arrived; reported it in person to the front desk; they sent the maintenance man out to "fix" it, but he didn't. My husband ended up temporarily fixing it. One of the table lamps was missing an outlet plug. The front desk staff do not answer the phone. My Aunt tried and tried to call us to arrange a time to meet, but the phone was never answered. I tried calling back on Sunday because I thought I had left something there, but the phone was never answered. Definitely will not stay here again.

Terrible Experience

This is the first time I will be writing a bad review. Not only is the hotel in a bad location (end of an alley way), but is disgusting. We asked for a nonsmoking room and we got it, but the room reaked cigaretts, they changed the room to one that didn't have the smell which was great. When get go the room it was nothing out of the world, the room is a standard room, but it was dirty, I didn't even allow my children to take their shoes off, at that point I really didn't care as we were there for only one night. I should of thought about it twice, in the middle of the night I couldn't sleep, I was itching, I thought it was my mind playing games so didn't think much of it. We woke up in the morning and had at least 8 bits that itch like crazy. I checked my kids and they also had marks...I checked the matteress and found BED BUGS!!!! Not only in the mattress also in the towels in the bathroom. Boy I was upset and picked up all my stuff packed and we got out of there...They did provide a refund. This place is disgusting and would not recommend to anyone!

Great location, but...

We were looking for a hotel while we visited Monticello, but had no idea that UVA's graduation was the same weekend! So, I booked this, and really it was OK, but the ceiling in the bathroom was literally gravity challenged and the place didn't seem too clean overall. HOWEVER, the breakfast was great for continental (waffles, bicuits with gravy, good fruit and pastries), and unlike more expensive hotels we stayed at on our trip the WiFi was free! It was OK ...

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Go downtown - skip the chains and buffets by the hotel. Go to Miller's they have a huge beer selection and the best fried green tomato salad my wife has ever had. Loved it.

I would recommend with some reservation...

Eventhough I don't usually do non-smoking rooms but I was desperate because of the lack of hotel rooms for graduation weekend, the room was clean. There were a lot of smoke burn marks on the bathtub and vanity. The tub was springy even though there were no mat. I'm thinking the non smoking rooms would have been in better shape. The people at the desk were extremely helpful and the breakfast was adequate. I was able to print out my airline boarding passes at the desk.

Not too far down the road is an Italian eatery called Carmelas. A bit pricy but excellent service and food. Not too far from the hotel is Jefferson's Monticello - great area for history buffs. An hour from here was The Natural Bridge and Natural Bridge Caverns.
