Hospital Stay @ UVA
Hotel was very understanding and adaptable to our needs while family was hospitalized. Also has discounted rate for UVA patients/family with documentation from hospital. Close to hospital & very convenient.

Nice run of the mill
Overall, good experience. Staff were great, rooms clean and comfortable. I believe they claim to have "balconies", but the sliding door is constrained to 4 inches of travel. For the money, it was a nice stay!

Great location!!
The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I stayed for 3 days and don't have any complaints. Its definitely worth the money and what you could expect out of a Holiday Inn.

The corner area has a ton of cute resturants and good places to get a beer. The downtown mall is also a good place to go. Both are about a $10 cab ride from the hotel

family friendly
This is an absolutely perfect location if you are visiting a child at UVA or visiting Charlottesville. It has great proximity as well and easy access to all the shopping nearby. The room was large, and comfortable, and the hotel has just been updated , so it is pretty much brand new. It was perfect for us while we were visiting our son.

Lots of aging paint and some grime, though they are renovating. Location is the only saving grace.

Misplaced priorities
I had a growing negative impression of the hotel as I stayed more nights. First I noticed that the in room cable television choices did not allow to keep up with news or regular shows I like to watch. It wasn't even basic cable. A real cheat for the regular prices. The hotel had many functions (blood drive, etc.) that while being worthy in themselves, really disrupted the comfort and convenience of the paying customer. I felt cheated and insulted by the management. The hotel laundry was broken the entire time and the in room bath and room cleaning was minimal. Altogether, a dissatifying experience.

Good stay for college parents
Only needed a room for one night stay for our son to do UVA orientation. Room was great, desk staff was very friendly and efficient. Pool was clean and relaxing. Pool deck was very slippery and almost caused a fall. Beside that, overall a great hotel for a great rate.

Very family friendly,
This particular Holiday Inn is centrally located with many restaurants and shopping. We had our 9 yr. old grandson with us and he really liked the indoor pool and exercise room. The room was very large and had plenty of chairs and tables for games for after sight-seeing. The only problem we had was the bed was not as comfortable as it should be. The restaurant in the hotel was very accommadating and the food was good and plentiful. I would and I have recommended this hotel to other people, mainly because of its location, cleanliness, and the pleasant staff.

Barrack Road shops which are just two blocks away have some very good stores and restaurants. Interstate access for some wonderful sight-seeing is just down the street.

Nice place to stay
Great experience with the front desk hotel staff, they were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and clean. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant the next morning. The food was fair but the service was poor. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the staff sat around chatting with each other and did not make sure we had everything we needed.
