excellent value; fine accomodatins
Ii picked this EconoLodge because iI wanted cheap accommodations, and it was by far the least expensive I could find. So I wasn't expecting anything plush, and of course it isn't. But is it a nice place, with large, clean rooms and a very comfortable bed, and in a most convenient location. The staff people were very nice. They even give you a free breakfast. The only slight negative is that the walls and/ceiling to the floor above are very sound-transmitting, which was fine on my stay, but if you had noisy neighbors it would come through.

An okay place
The room was clean, so were the sheets and the bathroom. The carpet has seen some wear. There was a draft under the door, we placed a rolled up towel. The price was cheap, so we had low expectations, which made the stay okay.

Can't sleep
Little sleep
Hotel was priced right and in a good location. Everything was what I expected until a couple got in a fight at 6am which included a car horn blowing repeatedly and loud yelling for 20 minutes. Maybee the staff could have done something to put this fire out. I was going to inquire about the incident at the office but no one was there for the 15 minutes I waited while having a bagel and coffee. I hope the noise was an rare incident but I was suprised how long it went, seemingly unnoticed.

Good for price
I would say it was definitely good for the price. The room was quite musty when we walked in, but after turning on the air for a few minutes, didn't notice a thing. It was clean and fine for a short one-night stay.

Good amenities for the price
Went for sightseeing, hotel staff was very friendly, had no problem checking in, breakfast was available every morning and room was equipped with fridge and microwave as advertised. The downside would be the chipped bath tub and loud ac unit but was hardly in the room. All in all, it was a good stay

Value-Priced Accomodations
This was a clean quiet motel. It will not win beauty awards but if you need an inexpensive place to sleep this meets the test. It is centrally located to all Charlottesville attractions but slightly awkward to get to from the north due to boulevard on primary connector street. As expected it does attract budget minded people some of whom like to loiter in the parking lot. If travelling alone ask for a room on the front side near the office. The rooms on the backside face a more private parking lot which appears to be used as an outdoor gathering place on hot, humid evenings. Continental breakfast has limited offerings and appeal but at least you do not feel like you are paying for it in the room rate. When considering you can pay $$$ more for a room with a shiny front door and designer toiletries it just makes sense to save and then splurge on dinner.

Cheap Hotel Lookout
BAD - Even for a cheap hotel..
Booked a non-smoking room, but they put me in the nastiest, oldest, grossest, dankest smoking room.. I asked to get the room I reserved, and they obliged. Much nicer room...however, I couldn't get hardly ANY sleep due to the unceasing creaking floors from the person above me. It sounded like wood floors that were warped and were built in 1970. I picked this hotel because it was cheap..but this hotel is past the point of diminishing returns. Pay 10 or 20 more dollars if you have to; This one isn't worth it.

A Good Week
It was exactly what we needed. We were visiting my son and family on their birth of their 2nd baby. We brought our own coffee pot for fresh coffee in the room but everything else was there.
