Business trip

It's an OK but falls short of my expectation. we were in a business training and conference meeting. While we not not have the time to explore the city, we enjoyed the scenery and the historic background of the City of Thomas Jefferson. We'll be back.

No water

When we checked in there was no water at all. That's because they shut it off to accommodate the hotel being built right next door. That hotel as of mid-April is nothing but a giant mud hole. So expect construction noise for months. Then the water came back on, but there was no hot water. We called the front desk, where the clerk said it was too late to disturb his boss.

awesome family trip

We visited the area. Visited friends there, went shopping. We were able to rest soundly and breakfast was yummy. I would visit again. The only downfall was the construction going on, but that wasn't much of disturbance just took away from the hotel looking nice.

Weekend Getaway for Thanksgiving

I had a pleasant experience overall, despite the construction beside the hotel. It didn't get in the way, but it also wasn't the best sight. That being said, its not like we spent much time at the hotel. Overall, it was comfortable and were treated kindly. Breakfast was good! Waffle maker!

Nice people, great location, but building needs work

The people at this Days Inn were very nice, the location was great, the breakfast was decent, and the price was low. But this was partly balanced by the run down building, with nearby vacant rooms open and filled with mattresses; by our smoky-smelling room (even though we explicitly booked a NON-smoking room); and the fact that the pool was already closed before Labor Day started.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Monticello is a can't-miss destination...the price of admission is well worth it. And the Pedestrian Mall in downtown Charlottesville is filled with great walking, people-watching, shopping, and dining, much of it very reasonably priced. The whole area is a gem.

Could Be Better

Room was great, but my room was not cleaned and refreshed one day, even though we removed the privacy tag and left the room by 9:15am. The hallways outside the corridors and stairs were always dirty with cigarette butts and other debris. It was not swept routinely on a daily basis. Good price for the money but cleanliness could be enhanced.
