I'd stay there again in a heartbeat

great place for a one-night trip
For $70/night, you get a lot for your money. The location cannot be beat, especially if you are visiting UVA. Our room was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed, including iron + board, wifi, toiletries, and a plethora of cable channels. The service was extremely professional, far beyond what you'd expect for a 2-star hotel. For a short trip to C-Ville, I would definitely recommend the Cavalier Inn.

Good place to stay on visits to UVA
Average hotel but good value and great location to visit the University of Virginia. Lot of sports teams visiting so it was noisy.

Excellent location for UVA visits
Used the hotel to visit UVA, however, the maps provided by the hotel were very poor and the staff had limited local knowledge. The staff were excellent at replacing a lightbulb and providing more towels.

Great Location
Great location for access to the University. Hotel is clean and lobby is nicely cared for. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was typical - nothing special but food was well stocked and coffee was hot.

Music's Paramour
Awesome deal
My husband and I frequently visit John Paul Jones Arena for concerts but have never stayed overnight. This time, we chose to stay at the Cavalier Inn for its unbeatable price, location, and convenience rather than drive 2 hours back home. We were extremely satisfied. You can see the John Paul Jones Arena from every room. Its THAT close. Despite being located dangerously close to a main road, the rooms are surprisingly quiet. It it essentially located in the heart of the UVA campus and, therefore, is a 5-minute walk away from good food and hang-out spots. We definitely recommend staying here and will be staying again soon.

Short walk from hotel
If you are visiting for a concert at the John Paul Jones arena, definitely stay here. Its clean, cozy, quiet, and provides a good night's rest after all that screaming, dancing, and moshing. Also, the short distance to the arena parking garage helps to secure a good arena parking space.

Nice Basic Hotel
This was a perfectly pleasant hotel. Nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary. The rooms could use a little sprucing up here and there -- the place is looking its age -- but it was perfectly clean and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast included hard-boiled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, yogurt, french toast, waffles and a large selection of muffins, pastries and bagels. A bargain at this price point and I would definitely stay there again. Nothing fancy -- this isn't the Ritz, for sure -- but much nicer than most places in this price range. The lobby was very attractive, the breakfast room was clean, the wi-fi worked fine. Absolutely no complaints.
