UVA Fan
Great location, great value
We were quite pleased with the clean, quiet room, friendly staff and great free breakfast. This is a very good value for an Inn right next to the Campus of UVA. The beds were comfortable and so were the pillows. We appreciated the easy access to town and Route 64.

Near to the Corner
Although it appears the Cav Inn had a bit of a face lift recently (new carpet and drapes in the room), the bathroom was very dated and sorely in need of new fixtures, exhaust fan, and the ceiling was in very sad shape. The bed was not that comfortable, and the train coming through (about a block away) several times through the night meant that it was not a very restful night for me. The breakfast was okay; it was sufficient to get us through to lunch; but I will say the hotel staff at in the dining room were very helpful and attentive.

perfect location for a visit of UVA
walking distance of UVA and a helpful staff. Rooms are basic and comfortable. Good deal for a short trip to visit the campus. Don t forget to use the complimentary shuttle from and to the airport!

health care visit
The location was perfect for our multi-stop health care visit. The beds were welcomingly comfortable. The room and amenities were clean and thorough for our needs. Staff was welcoming and efficient. Breakfast was perfect for us.

A decent place that could be better...
We picked the Cavalier Inn because of its location and price. The room was clean, the bathroom worked fairly well (sink drain slow, usual problem with slow shower head). But the carts to transport luggage to room were rickety and the breakfast was barely edible. What exemplifies the problems with this place are the windows over the catwalks on the street elevation of the building. The appear not have been cleaned in weeks.

fine place to crash and study
I spent the night before an exam. Ate dinner at the diner next door. Overall, it was clean, comfortable and served its purpose

Cheap price, cheap place
This hotel is just one step above a Motel 6. Cleanliness was an issue. Upon entering the room I was greeted by that locker-room odor that indicates it's time for a full remodeling of the place. Sure it was only $70, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.
