very good hotel ,very clean , friendly professional staff, the room had every thing I needed and the location was is fantastic. I would highly recommend when traveling in the dc area.

one night stay at homestead
Room is not that clean and the hallway and stairs are really smelly, think someone took a leak on the stairs.

Can't comment on the room (hence the '3' ratings) because I never actually made it in, but I'll take a whack at reviewing the customer service.[...] screwed up the res and stuck me with a smoking room even though my confirmation said non-smoking, rather than do the customer-service-oriented thing and try to get me a non-smoking room at another area hotel (they were booked), the manager decided to argue about what she was and wasn't obliged to do for me. Long story short when I mentioned reflecting this on the review or making a complaint she accused me of making threats so I turned around and left.Sitting in the car out in the parking lot it took me literally *3 minutes* on MapQuest to book a non-smoking room in the ExtendedStay suites *right next door*. Nice customer service, Homestead!Also, as I was originally trying to check in at HS, a guest came up to the desk and complained of ants in his room. The manager suggested he had food lying around his room and handed him a can of bug spray! LOL!

Don't waste time with HS, go next door to ES. Not the finest lodging in DC but adequate and they had great customer service.

The room conditions were less than satisfactory - baseboard trim seperating, missing trim on cabinetry. As for the staff I consider them top notch - all requests were efficiently and professionally met to my satisfaction.

Homestead Wash DC-Chantilly
We walked into the room and I looked at the chair covered in animal hair and got disgusted, but the smell made us both turn around and leave and go down the road a little and find a clean place to stay. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It needs a lot of cleaning and sanitizing. They don't guarantee non-smoking rooms or bed preference. Totally unsatisfactory.
