There are many sights to see such as the Appalachian Trail, Rocky Mount, Sugar Hollow Park Wetlands, Virginia Creeper Trail, Natural Tunnel State Park & Holston River.
If art and entertainment appeal to you, the Bristol Motor Speedway, Barter Theatre, & Paramount Theater will be right up your alley. The Tinseltown Movie Theater is directly across the street and the hotel is nestled among dining establishments like Red Lobster, PepperJack Grill & Outback.

Courtyard Bristol a nice place to stay
Although we did not spend alot of time in the hotel (we were in Bristol for a race), it was a pleasant enough 20 minute drive from the raceway, and was a very nice room. The room was quiet and the layout large enough to seem quite spacious, and we pulled the curtains so that we could sleep in late...there was hardly any light that got into the room the next morning and we slept like babies! The lobby and concessions/bar area was nice and neat, as well.

Good night's stay
I was in Bristol attending a funeral so was not interested in shopping or dining but the area has all that available if necessary. Shopping, movie theaters, bowling, and numerous restaurants are within walking distance.

Very nice!
This is a very nice place to stay... clean and the staff was super courteous and helpful when we needed a refrigerator. I don't know why the rooms don't have a fridge to begin with but they sent one up free of charge immediately. The "noisy" part of my survey is just because our room was on the back side of the building facing the interstate. If you stay here I highly recommend asking for a room on the front of the building.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Several large chain restaurants withing walking distance. Avoid IHOP if you're in a hurry and want to get what you ordered. We've tried that place a few times and have yet to have a pleasant experience there.
