perfect for business trip

This hotel is in a great location for the meetings I needed to attend. My room was quiet and clean. And I really appreciated the discount given because I didn't need maid service. There were quiet places to work if I didn't want to have small meetings in my room. And the food was excellent - and available all day! Everybody was very friendly and accommodating.

Overall great!

The Westin Arlington Gateway is in a great location for taking Metro to meetings in downtown DC. The room was nicely decorated, extremely clean, room had a great view of suburban Arlington. I have stayed in this hotel several times and have never been disappointed.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Take the Metro to meetings in DC, The walk to Metro from the Westin takes about 10 minutes through pleasant surrroundings. Do not drive into DC expecting a quick, smooth trip - the traffic is almost always heavy and the streets confusing.

Poor for the price

Housekeeping was inadequate. No refills on shampoo, conditioner, in room coffee supplies, used glasses. Weird TV channels: four Fox-tv channels out of the first 10.

Clean and convenient

The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. There was a wedding going on the same weekend and they politely handled even the most rude members of that party who came down to the bar. The rooms were clean and the location was perfect.

great location. First room they gave me even though they were a non-smoking facilitiy smelled of smoke....i called the front desk they apologize and said somebody would bring me a new room key and they did but took them over 15 minutes to do so despite it being 9pm and the hotel being dead on a random friday night. overall for the price i paid i would probably still go there.

nice hotel but pricey

If I had been paying myself I would not have stayed here, but it's very nice and the mattress is to die for.

two great restaurants are very close: Vapiano (a variety of really good choices of fresh pastas, salads, soups and paninis--also beer and wine) Rustico (pizza and an outrageously large selection of beers)

Great service...made up for

Was lovely and the service amazing but the shower was a bit annoying and the room was better on a previous stay other than that gold star.

Nice and cozy

Hotel staff was nice a friendly. Hotel and room were clean. The Room was also nice, had a king size bed that was extra extra soft with lots of sheets and pillows. The shower had double shower heads which felt great. All that was missing from the room was a microwave and a fridge which I think was done intentionally to push their expensive room service. Fitness room was subpar it didn't have enough weights to get a real workout. The hotel only had valet parking which was $22 a night with no where else to park. The area was great, walking distance from a 4 story mall with food court and a series of restaurants along the strip. Besides the valet parking and the rooms not having a microwave or fridge I would say that the hotel is great.
