Good Solid Couple's Weekend in the Nation's Capital

Free breakfast, including scrambled eggs and sausage. Monday - Wednesday heavy h'ordeuvres which can make a meal. Didn't have to use the kitchen. Clean room, ok staff. Right next door to the pentagon. Four-block walk to the Metro; my wife was a little scared at night. They had a van to take you anywhere in a 1-mile radius; it worked some times better than others. 20-minute wait for the van to the airport. I think the target audience for this hotel (one of 7 Marriott properties in a 2 mile radius) is military folks assigned to the Pentagon. Free WiFi in room; definitely NOT free parking. This is a solid place -- not fancy, not expensive. Might stay here again, but also might not.

Very happy

I have stayed at many Marriott properties. That said, I have stayed at many examples of Residence Inn. This one is by far the best of any of them. I was very impressed by this hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Very well done!

to save travel time to Wash DC airport

Easy to get to, easy access. The real surprise - $21/day parking - even for guests!!! The parking garage is so secure even a tank could not get into it. Tight turns, narrow parking spaces.

ate at the cuba restaurant in the cities chinatown, great food, very good service, the food was super delish, did some antique shopping in washington, be ready to walk a bunch, got a good workout, soooo much history in DC was overwelmed with all the sites and so much to see, I believe everyone should visit DC at least once in there lives, you won't be sorry., they even had bicycles to rent all over the city, everyone seemed to be having a good time, people we so courteous, officers helpfull.

Great base for Washington DC sightseeing

The room at Residence Inn had fridge, microwave, dishes, dishwasher, nice new large flat screen tv, free internet connection, etc. I have diet restrictions and it was great to have breakfast and lunch fixings in the room. Room was clean, staff pleasant, helpful. Located near Metro stop (Reagan National airport only 2 stops away), shopping mall close by. Met my needs at a good price.

Our trip to DC

We took our grandson to Washington. His first trip. He had a great time! Because of a possible government shutdown on Friday, we arrived very early, so we could get into the museums - just in case. We were able to check into the hotel at 9:30 in the morning. It was great. After we had walked our legs off, we went back to the hotel and our grandson swam in the pool for an hour. They even had a lifeguard! We were comfortable in our room and had just what we needed. Just a few blocks to the Metro, and a couple of places to eat.

California Pizza Kitchen. Very good. Wish there was one more place close by, but the food was good.
