Good location
This was a good location for us given the fact that our son was graduating from Georgetown University, just across the river. Convenient to downtown resterants and other sites

Loved the atmosphere and incentives
We were overall very happy with our stay here! The atmosphere is really relaxing and cozy- they have an area for hanging out with your travel companions, to read a book, to sit at your computer, have a drink, etc. with a fireplace, comfy couches and chairs, and an adjacent bar. The rooms are also very nice and clean, and the temperature control was very accurate unlike a lot of hotels where it takes awhile to kick in or goes from extreme to the other. This came in handy since the weather was all over the place while we were there. They also have complimentary wine from 5-6:00 which made us feel extra welcome and appreciated. Lastly, they have an incentive where if you opt out of housekeeping, they give you a $10 gift card for the bar every day that you opt out. Great way to reward caring for the environment! We had a few hiccups (weren't given the key to the mini bar upon check-in, had to ask for our $10 gift cards, were billed incorrectly), but these small issues were corrected immediately and with apology. We would definitely recommend staying at this hotel! If we return to the area, we will absolutely be staying there again, as well. Oh, I should also mention that the food was great and reasonably priced, and the hotel is a very quick walk to the Metro :)

Take the Metro instead of a cab or car rental- super cheap (especially with a weekly or day pass), easy and fast!

Great stay, perfect location
Very nice hotel, well located. comfortable room and friendly staff. Just beware of the hotel restaurant, a bit pricy, there are places around where u can catch a quick bite. There Ciosi across the street with nice tasting breads etc. Would have been nice if the internet was complementary . All in all this is a great hotel and I would stay here again.

Hop on the train to china town or Dupont circle for food. Georgetown is across the bridge from the hotel, 10 min walk, few restaurants there too. The train system is very east to navigate.

Awesome hotel with premier service
Originally reserved a standard room at this hotel, however upon check-in we discovered that the bed in the room was broken. After a call from the front desk, a representative showed up at our door with keys to an upgraded suite for our trouble. The list of amenities they provide for free is second to none, and their customer service is by far the best of any hotel I've ever visited.

MCM
I stayed at this hotel because it was one of the closest to the MCM finish line. They had a little goodie bag for runners. It was less than 1/2 a block from the metro. The only disadvantage was everyone trying to use the metro after the race.

Wash DC Area Value
The Palomar Arlington is a good package value and avoids the higher costs of downtown Wash DC. With the Rosslyn Metro station and the Circulator bus nearby, there isn't anywhere you can't go inside Wash DC. When I checked in I asked the concierge (the registration clerk) about the closest Catholic Church so that I could go to Mass the next morning on Sunday. Most hotels have a file drawer with church information, but the Palomar evidently didn't, so the clerk got on Google and printed the directions for me. The church would have been a 20 minute walk. When I tried the Google directions, they were correct to a point--and then there wasn't the street that the map indicated. I walked for another 40 minutes, winding my way through Georgetown University and other streets before I finally found the church. I was about 10 minutes late for Mass. When I got back to the hotel I explained what had happened to the manager on duty; he apologized, said he would correct the directions, and then let me enjoy brunch "on the house".

Short walk from hotel
The Rosslyn Metro station is diagonally across the street (through a small city park) and there's a 24 hr. McDonalds right there. Also, the Francis Scott Key Bridge across the Potomac is just one block from the hotel and it's a pleasant walk to Georgetown across the bridge.

Great Up-Scale Stay
FANTASTIC hotel for an up-scale stay, for a great cost. If you are looking for a great hotel for a trip to DC this is your place. It is more of an up-scale place, but I ABSOLUTELY loved it!!! I felt like I was up-scale. The staff was amazing and so helpful. It was only 2 blocks from the Metro station, which can take you anywhere you want to go. I would stay here again if I go out that way.

Palomar Arlington Hotel
Very helpful staff; from the Registration, Valets and room staff. Loved the wine hour from 5 to 6 p.m. nightly...........great way to start your evening. The gym is very nicely appointed; no need to bring your own small weights. We love to walk outside; you are overlooking the Potomac and a stone throw away. It was only a 10 minute walk to Georgetown's "M" St. We'd rather stay on the quieter side of the river & visit there by foot. Great quick places to eat on our side also, so you can save you big eats if you desire for across the bridge. The Palomar also has a nice restaurant, but we were on-the-go too much to eat there. There's also a Safeway a few blocks away, an easy walk, on the Arlington side. There is no comparison with hotels like Georgetown Suites or the Latham Hotel just across the bridge & just off "M" St. in Georgetown. We checked them out beforehand & whilst we were there. They look old, tired & dingy in comparison. We'd definitely pay to stay here again. I'd give this hotel 4-1/2 Stars if they had an option for 1/2 stars. Rarely would any hotel be a 5 star for us.
