I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if it was free. I've never been so disappointed. The staff was beyond rude, and the location was a nightmare.

overall nice hotel
The area is nice and quiet. The room is clean and also nice to have microwave and fridge inside the room. There is also supermarket nearby. The only disadvantage is that the transportation is not convenient - there is bus connecting between the hotel but only one every 30 minutes or even longer. You can also choose to walk to the metro station - it actually feels quite nice if the weather is good but it takes about 25 minutes to get to the nearest metro station (Court House).

If you have a car and all you want is a cheap motel in the D.C. area, you could stay here. However, we were disappointed. The motel was advertised as being within walking distance of the metro station. When we arrived the clerk informed us that "Walking distance is 2 miles." However, there was a bus stop within 2 minutes that took us to the metro. Unfortunately, the buses only run every 45 minutes or so in the evening. A trip to D.C. took about an hour to 90 minutes including waiting and travel time. Furthermore, the staff was unfriendly and we had to ask for basic necessities such as toilet paper. When I ased for a new coffee filter for the coffee machine, I had to prove that I was a guest ....?

Great location, average hotel
The hotel has no amenities, extremely small rooms, and the staff isn't the friendliest. However, the location is perfect. There is so much around the hotel and it was a short metro ride to DC. I would stay here again for the location only.

It was all that was I needed. I required one night close to DC. It worked fine. The bus in town passed by around every 20 minutes to the Metro station which for me was almost in walking distance. Next time if I stay longer I might rent a car or get a metro pass. Closest Restaurants were a few blocks away and two 24hrs drug stores.

Within reach of everything
After reading the reviews online, we almost didn't stay here. Glad we didn't miss this one. The first thing we noticed was the clean, fresh smell in the lobby area. Yes, the room was "cozy". But it was clean and well appointed. The staff had good tips on where to eat locally and how to get around in the D.C. area. And, they were right on about everything. When in D.C. again, we'll stay there and look forward to it.

Short drive from hotel
About 1/2 mile from the Inns of Virginia we ate at Metro 29 Diner/Restaurant. Sticker shock sat in until we remembered we were in the D.C. area. The portions were huge!!! We could've easily split a meal. The food was very, very good and we got our money's worth. The wait staff were on the ball. Water glasses never under half empty. Good wine and beer. Great tip from our hotel staff.

Good hotel
friendly, very good location in a quite and peaceful area. W are from Sweden so that was important to us, the neighborhood. Good rooms with reattach double beds.
