Inn of Rosslyn

As a woman travelling alone without a car, location and safety was important to me, and this hotel worked out great. Less than 10 minutes walk from the metro, walking distance to Georgetown (ca 30 minutes) and in a 'safe' area, this is a very good deal in this price Group. Hotel rooms were as expected for it's price Group, rooms clean and staff friendly so I'll Close this again for my next Washington stay.

It is a simple motel but it was very clean and the staff was helpful. It was about half a mile to the metro which was very doable. The TV, free wifi, and AC worked. My biggest complaint was the highway noise but I still slept really well. It wasn't fancy but I would consider going again.

Built in the early 1960's rooms and furniture are vintage. How do they keep them in such good condition? Takes me back when life was simple. On a budget dont want to spend a fortune good deal. No fee for parking. Can walk to nice restaraunts.

nice, large, clean rooms cloaked in a somewhat shabby hotel exterior -- friendly maid staff but front desk was difficult - very good value compared to others blocks away -- BE CAREFUL with booking details -- I had to fight for a refund of an overcharge which arose from an apparent disconnect between Cheap Tickets and the hotel --

Really nice manager. Location pretty cloce to metro station.

Not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Good location; easy walk to Metro stop. Wifi only worked in common area. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive place to sleep, it's a good choice.

I tried to stay at this hotel from 4-6 to 4-10-2013. From outside it looked very old hotel. I found moth holes in blankets and dovets and asked the receptionist to change them but she could not. Then I asked to leave and she offered to waive charges. Then I left.

One of the closest, the cheapest and clean hotel - complete with free parking lot ... NEAR washington dc area. Less than a mile away from Metro Subway. Good for staying the night with your buddies. :) Definitely will be considered a place to stay in the future trip.

Boy, I'm not sure how to start on this one. To be up front - I'm not very picky. I firmly believe that a hotel is just a place to sleep, and I don't really care about amenities. The Inn of Rosslyn is in a great location: 1/2 mile to subway entrance (next to a large grocery store) through a very safe neighborhood; or a nice 2 mile walk through Arlington cemetery to Lincoln Memorial. The price was good: We paid $89 for the 1st night and $99 for the next two (the Best Western is half block away with 50% higher prices). But the place is really falling apart: curtains were stained, blankets had holes in them, peeling paint, battered furniture. (I do have to say it was clean, though - the maids did the best they could with what they had.) It was noisy: sits on a fairly busy street with the airport quite nearby (you can really hear the traffic and airplanes). And the continental breakfast was a mess: staff was very casual about keeping the donuts, bagels and coffee (that's all there was to it) stocked and the crumbs wiped up (I personally went around and picked up napkins and coffee cups every morning because I couldn't stand to look at it while my bagel toasted). For the budget traveler that doesn't care where he stays as long as it's decent, this is the place for you. If you're picky (and I mean low expectations picky) about your accommodations then I'd really recommend that you pay more and stay elsewhere.

We read other reviews and were surprised when we showed up. The bed was in shambles. The king size bed had canyons from where people sleep. We had to climb up hill to get to each other due to the bed being over used and not replaced. Were told there would be a light pastry breakfast from 7ish to 11ish. Went down at 9am and there was nothing but crumbs and coffee. The air conditioned did not function properly. The noise from water being run in adjacent rooms was unbearable in our room(it will wake you up. The photo in the photo section of seeing the monument is not taken from the hotel itself, you will not see any of the sights from the hotel. It is walking distance to the metro which is convenient. First night we got there, there was hot water for 1 person to shower, then no more. If you can find something else, take it and use this as a last resort.
