The Hotel was nice
I was visiting DC for sight seeing purposes. The hotel is a short drive from DC. Nice area, friendly staff, and for the price it was worth it. If you walk a little bit there are eating areas and restaurants that are reasonable in prices. I was a bit worried about the bathroom due to the other reviews but it wasn't bad at all. I would recommend it. :-)

Nice place but noisey
The hotel was nice enough, but they put me in a room right by the elevators. Between the dinging of the bell, the mechanical noise of the elevator as it went right by my room, and all the people clomping through the hallway, I ended up leaving the hotel at 11pm to buy earplugs. Otherwise, it was lovely. I found street parking right outside the hotel, unheard of in DC. It was convenient to get and from and the staff was very pleasant.

Great!
I stayed here for two nights with my mother for a photography session. The room was great for the price! The shuttles provided here were SUPER convenient! I didn't realize until later that there's a Hyatt shuttle that picks you up from the Crystal City metro station and takes you to and from the hotel which circulates till 10pm.. (It also picks up and drops off at the airport!) The staff was knowledgeable about all the DC tours, sights, and ways to get to and from places which was fabulous! I would certainly stay here again! :)

Never again
Seeing the 4 star ratings I immediately knew this would be a good choice of hotels. This is my first time actually staying in a Hyatt, but I have always heard good things about them. Perhaps, it is due to the location of this one why the service was completely horrible. First off, there is only valet parking for $27 a day, which is not included in the hotel price. We arrived on a Thursday evening and Saturday at noon we called down to have them bring the car up. They informed us that we could just walk down and they would drive it up for us because it was busy. As soon as we walked out there was a huge angry crowd waiting impatiently for the shuttle, cars and other modes of transportation. The valet driver assured us it would be a 10 min wait. A half hour later we checked with them on the status of the car only to find out that we had 10 other cars in front of us. We were confused and surprised to hear this and on top of it all we were already late in meeting up with some friends for lunch. Finally, around 1pm we told them to forget about getting the car for us and walked across the street to eat lunch because we were both cold, starving and frankly just tired of waiting. I called to cancel lunch with my friends, but it didn’t matter since they had already finished eating and told us not to worry about the delay. The valet driver didn’t even sound apologetic when we complained. I’m sure all the other hotels outside the Reagan Airport have a similar parking situation, and I don’t think they make their guests wait over an hour to pick up their car. It was just absurd the waiting time. What if we had a flight to catch or an important meeting. Also, the room service could definitely use some improvement. Upon returning Saturday night from dinner we discovered our sheets were not changed. The two nights prior we were drinking wine and had spilled some on the sheets and thought house keeping would just change them anyway. Wrong! All they did was fix the bed and change our towels. The two wine glasses we were drinking out of had disappeared and no where to be found so we assumed they took them. Instead of calling down to have them replaced we just drank the rest of the wine out of the plastic coffee cups on the table. Now, the only reason we decided to reserve the hotel was the hot spa listed on their amenities. After a long and tiring day we wanted to relax at the hot spa upon check in only to be told that the pool and hot spa are seasonal. I would think a hotel as nice as the Hyatt would post something on their website about this. We were greatly disappointed and tried not to let it ruin our trip until all the other chaos happened. Luckily, the room was clean and the bathroom wasn’t too bad. However, I highly doubt I will ever stay at a Hyatt now, much less come back to this one. A year ago we stayed at the Embassy Suites around the corner and they had included a continental breakfast, which the Hyatt did not. Overall, we felt we didn’t get our moneys worth and just dissatisfied with the stay. Needless to say, we expected a lot better from them, therefore I am not recommending it to anyone.

Helpful Hyatt
I had stayed at this hotel last summer and knew the location was perfect for free transport to the Metro and the airport. The staff were very kind and helpful with every request we made. Our grandson was very impressed (at 12) with the Hyatt!
