BEST WESTERN Pentagon Hotel - Reagan Airport

Hotel not close to airport,shopping or publis transportation. Shuttle service offered, but always late. Room adequate for price, did not care for outside entrance, no elevator. You get what you pay for. It was a bargain.

We made plans to go the Inauguration in August after Obama won the Democratic Nomination. My brother and his wife were coming from Florida and we were coming from Missouri. What can I say we were excited! Because we booked so early the air and the room were priced very reasonably. The location from what i could see was just 10 minutes from downtown DC. Our stay was booked for Sun - Tues evening. In October we called to add and additional day. The representative for the Comfort Inn stated that we had to pay for the room in full in order to keep the room. We agreed and assumed our trip was paid in full. Upon our arrival to the small motel -- the agent states that we still needed to pay for the room, now double in price for 1 night! Of course we are in a different city some 4 months later and I'm unable to confirm that the room is paid for. We accept this because the trip is of historical significance. Right! The first day went well no problems. On the morning of the second day I notice a few ANTS in the bathroom. I figure that the house keeping tracked them in when cleaning. I kill the ANTS and we leave the room for a day of site seeing. Upon our return, there are several ANTS crawling in the bathroom. I report it to the front desk -- they inform me that the only thing they can do is discount the room 25% or we can move to a different hotel. It's Monday night, it is the largest gathering in inauguration history and we are not from DC -- where are we going? By the end of the evening there are ANTS crawling up the trash can and in our bags. I take the trash can to the front desk where I am hushed and told that perhaps they can give us a credit for one day of our stay -- but that's it no more can be done. I called the Comfort Inn Home Office and they informed me that the manager of the establishment gave me a credit for one day and that was all they would honor. When we checked out of our room on Wed. there was no further resolution. We came to DC to see history being made -- but I left wondering if our luggage was full of the ants we encountered in our hotel room - Comfort Inn Pentagon. Two days after our return the manager called to offer a 50% discount on the last day of the visit. She never apologized for the ant infestation at her establishment.

I thought we were going to be at a three star hotel but had to go to comfort in to eat and where was the conceirge the pool hours from 12;00 til 8;00 for the money we had spent was not acceptable with the amount of services or lack there of the shuttle to the metro was a big plus

I was in the area for two days and one night. The room itself had been modernized, but featured dirty sheets; a ridiculous amount of ambient noise from the construction site across the street, highway and other patrons; cigarette smoke pulled into the room by the air conditioner; and a semi-functioning TV remote. Not close to dining options.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The hotel was dirty inside and out, the descriptive picture is very deceiving, a very low class hotel that is away from services, including dining so if you traveled by taxi you're stuck. The bed had a dirty bedspread when I called for an extra blanket I got an old itchy torn blanket. I checked out after one night and moved too another for the same price that has many more amenties and the most important is that it's clean. Shame on you Best western!

Rooms badly need updating. Ours had burned out light bulbs, as well as a former guests sunglasses on the back of a chair...obviously not a sign of thorough cleaning between guest stays. It was also very noisy. Could hear people in the next rooms very clearly, and the showers went cold several times for no apparent reason. Good location but otherwise very disappointing.

The rooms were like a shell, we could hear everything our neighbors said, everytime they opened their doors, everytime they walked by our room. The bathroom was full of mold and the fixtures were falling apart. Wifi servive and microwave was promised, when we got there, there was none. They said it is newly renovated but it was the worst hotel I have been to. Nothing is new but the front desk area. I was so turned off by it I didn't even attempt to have their breakfast. Real bad experience!!!!

i would not recommend staying at the best western pentagon, if you plan to do any activities in the d.c.area. a taxi ride is approx $16 each way (for 1 person, also the hotel does offer a free shuttle to the metro station only. The hotel is poorly insulated, so i had to hear the baby in the next room scream until 1am. i did contact the front desk, twice. the police were called, after 40 minutes of waiting, i called the front desk again and was told that there was nothing the desk clerk could do and he would send the police to my room. I'm the one being inconvenienced, but the police are coming to my room? unreal! the police finally arrived and the parents made the cops tell the kid to be quiet because people in the hotel were complaining. This was just about the worst experience i have ever had in a hotel/motel setting. I will never stay in another best western!

This hotel was a little scary and not super clean, but we decided to stay just for one night on the way out of town. We went out to dinner and when we returned, there was no power.
