Good choice.
My wife and I stayed here one night after visiting relatives. The room was neat and new. There was no smoke smell (one of my pet peeves). It was easy on to I95. We didn't use any amenities, so I can't comment on them.

Very clean
We stayed at Springhill for a mini family reunion. Had asked for rooms nearby but they were as far apart as possible. Springhill is not that big that we couln't see eachother when we wanted. The maid forgot to replenish the soaps ets. Liked the idea of constant coffee in the loby and a paper plate to use in the microwave.

Such a pleasant experience!
We visited to see around DC area with two kids. First of all, person at the hotel front was so~ kind! She just looked happy to help anybody in the hotel. The room was like brand-new, clean and everything in the room was very neatly organized; was partitioned into two spaces, bedroom and small living room. So I think it's roomy enough for a family trip. Second of all, it's quite close to DC, only 15 minutes. Lastly, the complimentary breakfast was nice. So overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for family trip to DC. We, of course, will stay there for the next visit.

Wonderful hotel.
We chose this hotel because it offered a shuttle to the Metro train station. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were very clean ad well kept. The hotel offered a very good continental breakfast and the lobby had many items to choose for the late night munchies at a reasonable price. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. A great hotel for the price.

Pleasantly Surprised - Value!
An overnight stay at this hotel on May 30th was an alternative to pricier accommodations in central DC. Pluses - free parking, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, and well designed room layout. Minimal outside traffic noise. My room was located on the backside of the hotel, 1st floor. I would imagine it could be noisier during the day if the room was located on the front side. Near major highways. Very close to the Metro, and 17 minutes outside of DC by car. Comfortable beds. Minuses - a lot of kids and their chaperons were booked for the same night. Kids being kids they were noisy during the early evening hours. The walls are paper thin; I could hear everything. Internet was slightly sluggish. Not truly high speed but taking into account its free, I'm not complaining. Towels were a bit hard but generous. Breakfast was decent - yogurt, cereal, different breakfast breads, condiments, milk, coffee, processed egg patties, sausage patties, and a make your own waffles station. There was value in my stay for the price I paid for a solo King size. Individually controlled A/C and heat. Microwave oven and a refrigerator. Those without GPS might be challenged because of the hotel's less than central location, especially at night, but a GPS made finding it as simple as 123. Oh, they had an indoor pool too but I didn't use it during my stay.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Take the Metro into town. Unlimited all day travel if you buy a day pass. There's a Papa Johns about two blocks away if you get the evening binges. The Five Guys burger franchise less than a block away was a bit pricey for anything other than a once in a while craving for a really good burger. If you have a big family, it could easily cost $30 or more.

unbeatable location for the price
We went to a wedding in alexandria old town. The hotel was great but had to ask for more towels as they only give enough for 2 people. Everyone was polite and very helpful..I would book there again.
