Good location for the price
Late arrival; called for directions. Reservation was not finalized. Night clerk took initiative, had reservation firmed when I arrived--also gave very clear directions. Older high rise building; being renovated. Rooms a very good value for Alexandria.

Just what we wanted.
We arrived early, but were given our room promptly. That gave us time to go to a museum the first day. When we got back to the room, we prepared a light dinner in the mini kitchen of the room. The room was very clean and attractively decorated The hot breakfast was excellent with a wide variety. I would recommend. Terry

Great hotel for the price
We decided last minute to get a hotel rather than stay at a friend's house. We had a limited budget and were excited to discover that this hotel offers free hot breakfast as well as a free dinner on weeknights. The room was fine, the tv was a nice flatscreen, and the location was easy to find. The hotel offers free shuttle to a nearby metro stop as well as free parking.

Old DC Resident
Great location for the price
This is a great bargain if you want to be in the DC area and you have a kitchen if you want to to make your own meals, plus a hot breakfast and a manager's reception downstairs if you don't chose to cook. There is also a shuttle to the Metro Station and it is within walking distant of Landmark Mall. Although the building backs up to the freeway, it is extremely QUIET! inside. This is not a NEW BUILDING - but it has been nicely renovated.

Time-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
It's a very short shuttle ride to the VanDorn subway station where you can take the Blue Liine to downtown DC.

Great place to stay!
Overall, the staff and service were terrific. The shuttle to the Metro and nearby restaurants saved a lot of time and made getting around the area much simpler.

Great stay in Alexandria VA
We stayed in Alexandria to be close to D.C. and took advantage of the free shuttle to the Metro train station. The room was great, breakfast every morning and manager's reception on weekenights was a big plus.I would much rather stay here than in D.C. and believe I got more for my money. There were even stores closeby to stock the kitchenette in the room! The only disappointment was that a storm blew in as we arrived and no one cleaned up the debris from it until the next day. I'm talking about leaves, twigs, etc, in the hallway near the back entry from the door opening and the heavy winds. I think the manager should have had someone attend to that or taken care of it him/herself.

Very convenient and comfortable
Overall, this hotel was great! There were lots of little conveniences that made all the difference. Lots of complimentary services-shuttle, breakfast, internet, computer, etc. The computer access comes in handy for directions to sight-seeing. We visited during 90 degree days and the hotel was a little warm at times.
