Crowne Plaza OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA

Things that were good- free shuttle to and from airport, free shuttle to king street. Room was nice, clean, comfortable & had a fridge and micro wave which I didn't expect. Had nice view of the river, which I enjoyed. Not good- stayed for 5 nights, and one day housekeeping never cleaned the room. It would have been nice if there had been a shuttle to the metro station. overall a good value in the area.

I took a weekend trip to visit a friend. The room was clean and big. Hotel is about a 10 min walk to the metro or there is a free shuttle that will take you to than airport and you can hop on the metro there. Overall I enjoyed my stay!

Great location only a block walk to the river and 15 minutes to King street walking along the river. Fantastic view from our room over looking the river and can even see the capital. Nice people and excellent breakfast available.

My family and I had a pretty good experience at this hotel. The room was comfortable and pleasant looking. The location was very convenient to the D.C. attractions. My only criticism was I had to wait almost two hours for a refridgerator which I requested. When it was placed in our hotel room, the person just put it on the table without checking to make sure it was on a stable/flat surface. So, when I went to open the refridgerator door it almost fell on me (if it wasn't for my husband's quick reflexes!) This could have been a major safety hazzard.

The room was adequate, although the food was not up to par and there was only one restaurant, so there was no choice. The room had a wall-based heat/cooling system that kept turning on and off per the thermostat. This tended to interrupt my sleep. The reception area at the check-in counter was cheerless. The staff was okay but did nothing to make you feel welcome.

I periodically stay in Alexandria on business on my way in and out of DCA. I like to be walking distance from King Street and not spend a fortune for a bed. The Crowne Plaza delivers. It's clean and has the in-room amenities that you'd expect. If it had a coffee shop it would be perfect, but that's a first world problem. There is a nice place for breakfast across the street in the next block south. I prefer to venture out for dinner and drinks, so I didn't try the "gastropub" in the hotel. King Street is only a 10 minute walk south though. The street is fairly well lit and there are usually other walkers about so I think it is plenty safe. Once you get to King Street, take a left, walk 2 blocks and go sit at the bar at The Fish Market for dinner.

It's an ok place to stay. With the name Cown Plaza I expected a little more. However, I realized that I didn't pay too much for the room considering what part of the country I was in. Breakfast was good. Rooms are ok. Staff was ok. Over all...ehh, ok place.

We got a wonderful room with a great view of DC/Potomac River. The staff could've been a little friendlier when we arrived, but over all good. When we reserved the room the page said that they have Wifi, but in fact you have to pay for it, but they'll give it to you for free if you sign up for their point program, and they also give you a $5 discount onthe parking.

I THOUGHT THE FRONT DESK STAFF WAS RUDE AND DIDN'T REALLY CARE WE WERE THERE. THE DIETARY STAFF WAS FRIENDLY. ONE OF THE SHUTTLE DRIVERS DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND WE HAD A 45 MIN. WAIT TO BE PICKED UP. THE PILLOWS WERE AWFUL, WHO SLEEPS ON A SQUARE PILLOW. THEY HAVE SOME AIRLINE EMPLOYEE BUSINESS, SO I QUESS THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE AVERAGE CITIZEN. WOULD NOT GO THERE AGAIN.

The metro was easibly accessable through the hotel shuttle. It made the trip so much easier for us rather than looking for parking when we were in the city and it lowered the cost of the whole trip. Watch out for the hidden parking cost at hotel and food prices in general in the area.
