Quality Inn South Bluff

We recently made a reservation for 2 non-smoking rooms at the Q U A L I T Y I N N in St George, Utah using the O R B I T Z website. Upon completion of the check-in process early following afternoon, I was handed the room keys and told this key is for the non-smoking room and this key is for the smoking room to which I promptly replied "we reserved two non-smoking rooms as two in our party have asthma". The desk clerk spoke with the owner or manager via telephone and then turned to me and said we should take the reservation and they would give us a rollaway bed? I agreed to check the smoking room to see if it would work. Upon opening the door of the smoking room 6 inches I was met with the accumulated smell of several years. I returned to the front desk and again asked the clerk to please give us 2 non-smoking rooms. The desk clerks declined my request for them to honor the original reservation. I then called the credit card company I used to book the reservation and the credit card company employee spoke with the hotel desk clerk for several minutes. The motel clerk again declined my request and we left and subsequently made a reservation at another motel.

Made reservation on [...]and requested Non-Smoking rooms. We checked in early and there were very few guests at the time. Desk clerk said all they had were smoking rooms left. I said you can NOT be full at that hour. She said tour busses were coming in and they would be full and they took all the non-smoking rooms. I said I was there now and wanted a non-smoking room, first come first served. She could not comply. We have stayed there many times before, but guess that was our LAST!!

The room was okay. The beds were comfortable enough. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good, but their were no condiments like Ketchup. They also failed to supply a toaster for the bagels or toast. The down falls... The tub floor creaked. The toilet didn't flush well. It had a very horrible smell to the room so we sprayed room spray the entire stay. The staff was extremely friendly with only a minor communication problem. The maids didn't speak an ounce of english, but did a good job.

No hotel is perfect so we set our expectations and try to get the best value for our money. This hotel did not meet my expectations. The room carpet was soiled in the traffice pattern, lamp fixtures were worn and hanging lamp shade fell off with the slightest bump, and the through-the-wall air conditioner was very noisy when the compress was running. A smile from the staff would have been appreciated.

During check in 2 rooms called to complain. Not towels, room dirty. Staff wasn't very professional, seemed over whelmed

I go to enjoyed a meeting with friends. I usually stay at a less expensive motel (Motel 6 etc)because I'm only there to sleep at night. This time I wanted to try an upgraded motel and because you rated Quality Inn so high, I gave it a try. The room was pretty clean, had a comfortable bed, and overall was ok. My disapointments were: The toiled paper holder was broken, kept falling on the floor; the hair dryer malfunctioned, almost burned up; the toilet didn't flush properly and a few more but to their credit, they gave me another room which was in better condition. I really expected more from a a motel like this. Would I stay there again,...probably not.

We were just trying to get out of town for a few days because we were mentally and emotionally shot after my husband's finals. So we just crashed for the first day, spent the second at Zions, and then left the third. The rooms were clean and nice enough, but the plumbing, esp the toilet, was "iffy," meaning sometimes you could flush, and sometimes it took 2-5 tries. *Shrug* We had a pool-side room. The pool was nice, but we were bothered by the constant smoke smell outside our room. I only saw a guy smoking once, but the smell was ever-present. All in all, It was good for the price, not classy, but that wasn't what we were looking for. It's a good location and we weren't dissatisfied.

The room was very clean and comfortable. the room was remodeled and everything was shiny and new!
